“I Never Fell Off, I Just Fail Back” - A line from one of many lead singles on the hotly anticipated street release I Do ’s Wonda bread The Mix Tape, but the phrase also explains the prolonged hiatus of Greensboro’s finest, P-Wonda. Putting in work since 2003, P-Wonda’s had his share of highs and lows in the industry. After serving some time in jail and dealing with the loss of his father, Pierre Trepaul Conway aka P-Wonda reemerged with a fever to destroy any MC in his path. North Carolina’s undisputed freestyle champ put out dis-tracks taking jabs at the hottest rappers. Rap Star 50 Cent took notice after hearing P-Wonda go hard on the classic “Stick You if You Stunt” record. 50 tried to sign the talented young lyricist, but P-Wonda stayed loyal to his independent label and family Othaz Records. Now free and clear of all legal woes, Othaz Records and P-Wonda’s management company Monalis360 are eager to get his music to the masses and introduce the world to the “Middle East” movement; the rap scene that’s making noise in The Carolinas, Virginias and surrounding regions.

The name P-Wonda came during his days as a young MC. P-Wonda always knew rapping was his thing; he recalls writing his first rhyme in the third grade. Winning freestyle battles throughout his neighborhood had the streets buzzing; P-Wonda began rapping with friends, they formed a rap group called The Committee. The Committee put out songs that got airplay on their local radio stations and in local nightclubs. DJ Waleed Coyote of 102 Jamz in North Carolina is founder and CEO of independent label Othaz Records. He felt the pain and passion in P-Wonda’s songs and knew he wanted to work with the rapper. Once the deal was completed and P-Wonda was officially signed to Othaz Records he jumped in the studio and began making songs. Rhyming came easy to Pierre; he studied Rakim, LL and KRS-One – his favorites.

At twenty-eight, P-Wonda is poised and in position to shake up the rap game. Working with rappers DMX, Busta Rhymes and Krazie Bone (Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony) helped P-Wonda hone his stage performance skills early on in his career. P-Wonda recently won the Single of The Year Award at North Carolina’s Underground Music Awards Show for his hot like summer single, “I Do ’s”, which at it’s peak garnered over 1000+ spins in the Middle East Region. P-Wonda put on a high energy performance to a packed house during the awards; he had the entire audience on their feet.

The breakout single “I Do ’s” sets the tone for the latest mixtape release from P-Wonda, I Do ’s Wonda bread The Mix Tape. All twenty-five songs on the mixtape showcase impeccable production and relentless rhymes. The hood anthem “All My G’s” features Ricky Ruckus, Blac Boi & Tigo-B, produced by Rio Production. “I Do ’s” was produced by Mario Jones for Rio Productions. On the sexy smooth track “Roc Wit You”, P-Wonda talks to the ladies, showing his diverse appeal. The single features C-Bone (Outkast Purple Ribbon label) and Ricco Barrino (Grand Hustle).

P-Wonda is currently promoting the release of I Do ’s Wondabread The Mix Tape while working on his debut LP, The Wonder Years. No stranger to hard work, the North Carolina native has been touring with legendary Hip-Hop group Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony, rocking the stage as the groups special guest. Driving from city to city can be tough as a new artist, but P-Wonda doesn’t mind the long hours and lack of sleep, he’s happy to meet new fans and communicate online via twitter and myspace.
