"UMS 2015 – Day 2"

Ok. Here it is. I’m going to say it. Randy Washington is the best frontman in Denver. If you know him from Total Ghost, you know that statement is fact. This night though was about Pxlman, Randy’s new electro-pop project that has already hit the ground in Denver running. It is rich, melodic and infectious singing over a gorgeous electronic musical bed; all tightly woven together by forceful and driving live percussion. You can’t help but enjoy yourself as Randy takes command of the room and draws you into his world of pop. - Shon Cobbs

"Here are 15 acts to discover at UMS 2015"

Singer and extroverted freak (we mean that in the best way) Randy Washington’s other band, Total Ghost, is an inspired, faux-German synth-pop performance-art group. Pxlman takes a more straightforward approach, dialing down the humor but upping the musical ambition with big, anthemic hooks and unhinged pop-soul vocals. 11 p.m. July 24, Eslinger Art Gallery - Reverb Staff

Still working on that hot first release.

pxlman is an electropoprock outfit out of Denver, CO. This two (three, with a live drummer) piece band lays down a grinding foundation of thick kicks and arpeggiating synths then layers on distorted organs and horns that lend to a complex take on the electropop genre. Front man and songwriter Randy M. Washington brings to the band over a decade of writing electronic music, most notably, fronting the German electropop band Total Ghost. Balancing the scale out on the other side is DJ and visual designer Gracie McGuire. Signed to vinyl-centric label Snappy Little Numbers, pxlman's April 2015 single generated heaps of excitement in the Denver music scene. If the beginning of this band's career is indicative of anything, they are sure to turn heads for a long time.
