PYTSHENS KAMBILO

Auteur, compositeur, interprète, Pytshens Kambilo a accompagné bon nombre de grands noms de la musique congolaise, navigué du ndombolo à la rumba en passant par le jazz, mais aussi collaboré avec des musiciens venus d’ailleurs (Liban, Japon, Gabon, etc…). Il a ainsi forgé son propre style et monté en 2005 un groupe à Kinshasa avec lequel il a enregistré un CD 8 titres. Sa musique, afro métissée, est nourrie à la fois par ses origines, ses rencontres et ses voyages. Depuis 2007, conduit à circuler beaucoup entre la France et la RDC, il a monté un nouveau groupe :Charlie Dalin, Emilie Pee, Jean batiste Rochet avec lequel il se produit partout et a enregistré un CD 15 titres. On y retrouve cet instrument qui lui est cher et auquel il donne une place centrale: la guitare acoustique. Mais dans cet esprit de nouveauté et de recherche qui l’anime en permanence, il a souhaité y ajouter des instruments et des mélodies qui accentuent le mélange culturel: le violon, la flûte de pan, etc.. C’est dans ce même esprit qu’on découvre dans cet enregistrement le “Ndoa”. Une langue inventée par Pytshens Kambilo, qui donne à certaines de ses compositions et à son univers artistique cette sonorité et ces couleurs si riches qui lui sont propres.

Pytshens Kambilo is a writer, composer and interpret. He has accompanied quite a few of the great artists of the congolese music scene, from n'dombolo to rumba to jazz, and has played with musicians from all the horizons (Lebanon, Japan, Gabon...). He has created his own style, and, in 2005, created his own band in Kinshasa, with whom he has recorded an 8-track album. His « afro-mix » has its roots in his own country's music, his travels and the people he has worked with. Pytshens has travelled a lot between France and RDC since 2007, has created a new band for live shows, and recorded a 15-track album. The main instrument, which is his favorite, is the acoustic guitar. Yet, driven by his need for innovation and discovery, he has added other instruments that enhance the cultural mix: violin, panpipes, etc... Following the same ideal, this recording witnesses the creation of « Ndoa »: this language, which he has invented, provides his songs with the particular color and atmosphere that are his own.
