Bio

Qeaux Qeaux Joans has been a musician and songwriter for years. But things really took off when she boldly climbed the stage at a Seasick Steve concert in Amsterdam 2009. Seasick Steve became a fan instantly and invited her as his support act during his Dutch tour in 2011. The latter led to an appearance in very popular Dutch daily national TV show 'De Wereld Draait Door'.

At this stage, Qeaux Qeaux all ready had a huge live-repertoire and a very committed band to play and rehearse with. The next step had to be recording an album. Together with her dedicated band and producer Reyn Ouwehand she decided to finally go into the studio and record her debut. Producer Reyn Ouwehand, (who also worked with artists like De Staat, Alain Clark, Ane Brun and Kane, ) recorded the album in three days. With 80% of the tracks being one-takers, they really captured the essential live-feel of Qeaux Qeaux's music on the album.

And now, october 2012, 'No Man's Land', debut album of Qeaux Qeaux Joans is released to the world. Artwork design, including webpage, photography and video, was done by Rahi Rezvani, a quickly-upcoming photography artist who also worked with James Blake and Bloody Beetroots (a.o.). And the last puzzle-piece for introducing Qeaux Qeaux to the country, indie-label PIAS joined in. Which confirmed Qeaux Qeaux's feeling that she should follow her heart, no matter what.

Qeaux Qeaux Joans' music could be described as alternative Rythm and Blues, with a poppy additive. Qeaux Qeaux's influences heard on the album are artists like Amy Whinehouse, Anthony Hegarty, Solomon Burke, Feist, Billie Holiday.
The album 'No Man's Land' by Qeaux Qeaux Joans is available on vinyl in the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) from September 2012. The official album release (both digital and on CD) was October 5th 2012 by PIAS.
