Quadrogong

.........."Welcome to our inaugural bash" beamed Quadrogong's singer/guitarist/prime mover Danny Mackane. Mere seconds later Bombastic Drummer Mike "The Engine" Hill beat an intro to the opening number, a reggae grooved slide guitar led instrumental.
Next Mackane sang "You can eat your heart out now" whilst picking out the opening arpeggios of "Prude" then the song proper kicked in with the huge riff deftly supported by bassist Kevin Moon’s mud splattered, groove heavy throb.

"A Castle of Sheep" next saw Mackane spitting out the lyrics with venom aplomb. A mesmerizing slide effected intro ushered in the epic, spatial "Taking Off (Part 1)" Hill and Moon locked in during the stop/start section behind the solo.
Next Mackane strapped on his faithful Les Paul Standard for a Psychadelic themed track before blagging three dollars from the audience as he had "Promised that the band would get paid tonight"
Mackane then proceeded to tease the audience with a short Howlin Wolf tribute and then lead the band into a reworking of Cream's "Crossroads"

Jams and Arses were well and truly kicked out and into next week with the riff heavy set closer "Sweet Machine"
Quadrogong took a short breather before returning to the stage for a well deserved encore.
With a debut a strong as this, you should make a date with these guys before you are turned away at the door.
