Bio

Formed at the beginning of 2015, Quarter Heads is a Canadian Pop-Rock band based out of the Toronto area. Our sound is centered on catchy rock riffs, strong choruses, and just enough musicianship to not come across as complete hacks. The formation of the band started with Kale Adem (guitar) and Peter Pacey (bass), who had worked together for years in previous projects. Tristan Hernandez (vocals) and Austin Gembora (drums) were recruited through mutual friends, and brought their own unique influences to the table. Where Austin is experienced in playing jazz and hip-hop, Peter is more heavily influenced by early-era S Club 7. Tristan’s vocals are inspired by grunge, rock, and metal singers, while Kale’s guitar playing is motivated by going to the gym and watching repeats of Thomas the Tank Engine. With such a diverse blend of styles, the four of us believe we have come together to create music that is unique, interesting, and slightly better than mediocre. In writing and performing music, our end goal is always to entertain people, and to enjoy ourselves as much as possible!

Our debut album, Foxy Baby, was written and recorded in roughly six months. While there are only six tracks on the CD, we have managed to use this album to demonstrate the variety of music that we all enjoy writing. Songs like What If? and Break This Hell are examples of us indulging our hard-rock roots; and tracks like Foxy Baby and She Got Me are us trying to write pop hits (selling out). Five minute songs with three guitar solos are great, but we want to make some money at some point! All of us in the band also enjoy the idea of exploring musically. The song Trip was our 'accidental' tumble into rap/rock fusion, and with the assistance of guest rapper Tyler Check, the track turned out great! In the future, we hope to continue exploring different elements of our musical tastes, and further develop and hone in on our band's 'sound'.

All of our music was produced and recorded by the very talented Michael Sarracini at Mono Road Music!
