Quarter Life takes pride in it's ability to be versatile and makes a poing of blending many different genres of music together. There's something for everyone on a Quarter Life Album.

Biography

In only 14 months since formation, Quarter Life has earned opening spots on main stages for acts such as ZZ Top, Thornley, and Three Days Grace as well as collaborations with Cuban artist Elmer Ferrer (www.elmerferrer.com) who opened for Kid Rock during Ottawa's Bluesfest 2005. Quarter Life was also invited to perform 3 times at the 2005 Havana Jazz Festival in Cuba. Also, Quarter Life has recorded a 4 song EP including a song called “Home”, which was a top 5 finalist in the 2005 National Songwriting Contest, Ottawa Division.

Quarter Life, one of Ottawa’s freshest new bands with a FULL LENGTH ALBUM coming out in the Spring of 2007. It takes its name from that point in life where it's time to rock out, feel good about playing music, and loving every second.

Lyrics

Home

Written By: Peter Voith

I just might have overstayed
My welcome so I made
My mind up to escape
The silence of the voice of rhyme and reason
Well it’s barely breathing
I just want to know how the story ends and then if we make amends at all

It’s the uncertainty that I fear

Because there’s more than just two ways about it
Wherever I roam it’s like a ride on a rocket
There’s no place like home in all this beauty and vastness
Where will I make it my home, my home?
Where will I make it my home ‘n my home?

Just picture if you will
You’re standing at the top of a hill
You don’t want to come down ‘cause the view is fine
Lord help me ‘cause I don’t have the spine to face it
Lord and really embrace it
Why do I feel the need to know everything when I all I learn is how much knowledge I’m lacking??

It’s the uncertainty that I fear

Because there’s more than just two ways about it
Wherever I roam it’s like a ride on a rocket
There’s no place like home in all this beauty and vastness
Where will I make it my home, my home?
Where will I make it my home ‘n my home?

I won’t resign my soul just right away
Not ‘till I know it’s right inside
Somebody tell me what I’m doing wrong
So I can forgive and move on
Whatever happened to my salad days?
I think that Shakespeare would say ‘spent’
Only my dried out four-leaf clover hides
What I know to be right inside

It’s the uncertainty she feels
Mother, don’t worry, your sons will be right here
There is no need for your all your solitary tears
We’ll not forget all of the good years
Because there’s more than just two ways about it
Wherever she roams it’s like a ride on a rocket
There’s no place like home in all this beauty and vastness
Where will she make it her home ‘n her home?
Where will she make it our home ‘n our home?
Where will I make it my home ‘n my home?
Where will I make it my home ‘n my home?
Home.

Skipping Stones

Written By: Peter Voith

Like Skipping Stones across the lake we dance
Crack a beer then all I want to hear is hands and feet
Stomping to the sound of the band’s tune
At Bonny Doon under the moon
Hey man that scotch is gone to soon I think

Well we might not make it out to the hill tomorrow
Because tomorrow’s already here
What a nice morning we have tonight, tonight, tonight
I’ll see you in the afternoon!

Like baked into our seats with empty bottles up to our knees
With such great ease you so often please
Like the sweetest lovers and the finest wine
The best in people’s often so hard to find
So hard to find

But among wilted flowers and muddy waters
There’s always some that get more sun
So have your hangovers and one-night lovers
‘Cause some changes just never come
And no some blessings just never come

Rochelle

Written By: Peter Voith

Who am I to force a love
That’s not requested
No it’s not wanted here
But if I could be born as someone else
I’d be the one you’re with right now
I’d be the one you love

You let me down
So gentle and so sweet
But left me
Oh so incomplete

Rochelle
You cast your spell now it’s my living hell
You cast your spell now it’s my living hell
Rochelle

You let me down
So gentle and so sweet
But left me
Oh so incomplete
You’ve chosen him
But I just can’t accept defeat

Rochelle
You cast your spell now it’s my living hell
You cast your spell now it’s my living hell
Rochelle

If I just had a half a chance I’d show you what my heart understands
A love supreme
A love come clean
So clean

If you were here then I could live again this year
Can’t bear not knowing what I might have been
I fear
I feel

You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve seen this year
Most beautiful girl I’ve seen all summer

New Direction

Written By: Peter Voith

Wake me up so that I can see the light
The morning air is all I need to feel alive
Oh so alive…

They say we will one day have to part
Well why must they carve in every young lover’s heart a lie.
A lie…!

For my love has found a new direction and I need not sleep to dream her
I need to eyes, no, to see her
‘Cause feel her in my head and in my heart I all…always will

The sun shines bright on me
The sun shines bright on me

For my love has found a new direction and I need not sleep to dream her
I need to eyes, no, to see her
‘Cause feel her in my head and in my heart I all…always will

Now I’m hoping tomorrow will be a sunny day
‘Cause every hour that goes by feels more like seven or eight
My stomach churns and I’m burning here
For my lost Princess that I’ve found this year

For my love has found a new direction and I need not sleep to dream her
I need to eyes, no, to see her
‘Cause feel her in my head and in my heart I all…always will
