Bio

Qubenzis, also known as Qubenzis Psychedelic Audio or simply “QPA”, is the artist name for the multi talented musician, composer, psychedelic trance dj Ricky Maard from Sweden (lives currently in Spain).

Ricky played instruments since childhood and has band background from as far away as Finland, Denmark and Sweden where he toured and recorded (vinyl) albums during the 80'ties with bands like "Hefty Load", "No Doubt Finland" and others (see: http://www.qubenzis.com/2008/bio-the-notorious-version/ for detailed info from this early period).

Aside from playing in bands as a synth player, bass player, electric guitar and even drum kit, Ricky started experimenting with electronic music and instruments during mid eighties. Made lots of chill and ambient recordings between 90 – 2006 (2 albums 2005-6).

Finally got into Psychedelic Trance during late nineties and eventually started to dj the genre 2006. This was after a period where he created live sound effects with his synthesizers alongside dj’s, a reggae band and even a Celtic rock band at various festivals and clubs in Spain.

By 2007 he finally started recording [specifically] psychedelic trance music under the name Qubenzis Psychedelic Audio. Under the QPA umbrella he then funnelled all previous experience into the solid sound you now can experience. Under the name "QPA" he performed at a few larger festivals, occasional club gigs (Spain) and also managed to create a strong worldwide Internet presence within the genre.
