Feeling a bit camera shy

Bio

Born in Cleveland, OH, Que began playing guitar at the age of 6 and quickly started garnering attention as a child prodigy. Many have compared him to guitar legends like Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Ernie Isley and Prince to name a few. Que has crafted a playing style that is unique and all his own. Bending and turning notes at will, are just some of Que’s signature tricks. Add in extreme precision, soulful expressions and flawless technique and you’ve got an idea of who we’re talking about. “It’s all about the feeling.” quotes Que.

“Gigging” in establishments where the young age of 12 is “usually” illegal, Que wowed musicians three times his age and somehow managed to get around the rules. Later, he went on to further his study of music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Though while at Berkeley studying along side his peers, like many artists before him, Que was eager and ready to jump into the prospects of a musical career. So he hot tailed it to NYC, slept in the street, hopped the subway and lived on a potato chips and water diet, but soon landed a high profile gig.

While still in his late teens he began playing in the wings of some of the industry’s largest R&B stars like Keith Sweat, Melisa Morgan and Gerald Levert. Most recently he and his wife collaborated on a record with George Clinton called “P in the Funk”, which got them a video on BET and a spot as an opening act for Geroge Clinton and the P Funk All Stars.

Que is now venturing out on his own with his new solo project entitled, “Poor Little Rich Boy”. The new album is filled with hit oriented songs produced by the production team of Al Sutton (Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Hank Williams, Jr.) and Marlon Young (Jody Rafoul, session guitar work for Kid Rock, Dan Huff – Evan & Jaron, Dave Matthews) and with LA renowned producer/mixer Peter Mokran (Christina Aguilera, Maxwell, Pussycat Dolls). Beyond being an accomplished guitar player, Que’s musical talents include piano, bass, songwriting, producing and a strong ability to make you feel and believe a story through his vocals. With the birth of his solo project, Que plans to take his guitar playing to the next level by taking Rock & Roll and mixing it together with other styles of music to create something fresh. “Being able to incorporate different styles of music into mine is what I think allows me to be different,” says Que. “Breaking the rules. It’s all about the feeling.”
