Bio

Born November 6, 1986, Quentin Ricketts of Brooklyn, New York was always destined for greatness. As a child he was musically-inclined, learning to play the drums, piano, and keyboard at the age of eight; and singing in the church choir. He developed a special love for classical music but to his mother’s dismay, the pulsating beat of hip hop coursed through his veins like the blood itself. He was musically influenced by artists such as Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and The Notorious B.I.G.

As a youth, he was sure he wanted to be an artist. But he had no idea that his passion for music would lead to his career as an event host and aspiring video jockey.

In 2002, Que moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina with his father, who was stationed there on assignment. He graduated from Westover High School in 2005 and enrolled in college shortly after. At the time, Southern hip hop entertainment was on the rise, and Que began to take notice—along with the rest of the world.

Two years, later he realized that college was not the route he wanted to take and began his pursuit of full-time party promotions. After a short stint in the military, he was managing and promoting a local night club in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Thus, beginning his journey to become a full-time event and party promoter.

Que founded Crowned Legends Entertainment with a few of his friends in 2009. It was his company that introduced the likes of R&B artist J. Holiday, rapper and singer Nicki Minaj, and rapper Yung LA to Fayetteville for the first time.

His career as a radio personality also launched in 2009. While working under Kalim “Big Leem” Hasan and with the guidance of Terrance “Big Abe” Abraham, Jane Dough, and DJ Ike Gda., Que evolved into an even bigger form of himself than he ever imagined. He scored interviews with talents such as Fayetteville’s own J. Cole, Rain, Baltimore underground female rapper Keys the Problem, Big Sean of G.O.O.D. Music, and winner of VH1’s “For the Love of RayJ 2” reality star, Mz. Berry.

Before long, he transitioned from promoting high school and college parties to co-hosting major events. He hopes to become a video jockey on an entertainment television show and expand into the world of talk shows.

“The market is so saturated right now with journalists and hosts that are so caught up in getting the controversial stories that they forget to ask important questions to artists, and that’s about their music,” Que says.

“Que da Problem” is a rising star with mounds of potential in the entertainment industry, and we definitely do not want that problem solved any time soon.
