Bio

He's a writer: A rhyme writer as well as a news writer.

"I always knew I would be in the media business... that's where my heart is," says Que, a graduate of Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, PA. Que began his career in journalism in 1999 at KYW News radio 1060AM in Philadelphia. After several years working as a production assistant at the all-news CBS station, Que - real name Quintin Cliett - started writing news stories for CW Philly Wakeup News and CBS-3 Eyewitness News. Currently, he is a writer and editor at KYW News Radio, but the demanding news watch never stopped him from inking his rap projects on his spare time.
In 2003, Que met female DJ/producer Mz. Deluxx and the two started what would become a long-term working relationship. Their admiration for each other's craft prompted the pair to create a number of songs, which would be kept under wraps for years until recently.
"I have a keen sense of great music," says the Philadelphia native. "I really enjoy the oldies; my dad put me on to that." Speaking about his love for hip-hop, Q says "rappers like Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Run-DMC, Tupac, and MC Lyte ignited that spark in me to make me want to rhyme.” Que’s lyrics are all clean, which is done purposely. “I'm bringing that good clean rap back. For example, Paid and Full - one of the first hip-hop classics - and the lyrics were clean, but meannn! I'm just trying to open that lane back up so anybody can listen to my music and not write me off simply because I use profanity and talk about guns or drugs. You'll have to come up with a better reason. You'll have to really critique my music."
Currently, Que is working on his debut project with Mz. Deluxx to be released under the up and coming Philadelphia-born independent music label Columbia 215 Entertainment. Que’s first single is expected to drop in November, 2009.
