Native-born of Charlotte, North Carolina, Shaun Long--who goes by the GOD-inspired name, Quest-San--has a poetry rap style that is very versatile. Quest-San started rapping in his freshman year in high school. But his passion for writing poetry and music started at birth. He was raised in the typical African American household where he faced the struggles of oppression that are stereotyped by his race and living environment. However, because both of his parents were ministers of the gospel, he learned how to overcome every obstacle in life through CHRIST, JESUS. The name "Quest" comes from his passion to bring back the truth and realness to the rap game. Quest-San distinguishes himself from other artists as being a voice for the streets and for those locked in the struggle. His message to them to look toward CHRIST for deliverance and a "Better Day". Quest-San makes this statement, "The message in the rap game today is backwards. I believe the truth about our lifestyles as a people has been commercialized. But I'm here to set the record straight."
Those who inspired Quest-San in his youth were Jesus Christ, his father, and Tupac Shakur.
Where does Quest-San see himself in 10 years...? "I see myself as a man still serving his purpose in life".
