"Babykisses" Released 2002 on Heart of a Champion.

Feeling a bit camera shy

Qui was founded in Los Angeles, CA in 1999 by guitarist/vocalist Matt Cronk and drummer/vocalist Paul Christensen. Both members met in their hometown of Minneapolis, MN while attending the Minnesota Center For Arts Education studying music. Bringing a wide range of influences from their formal training in jazz and classical music as well as their experience in hardcore and noise bands, Qui created a sound that is one half studied virtuosity and one half punk rock bile.

After releasing their debut record, "Babykisses," on Minneapolis-based label Heart of a Champion, Qui began a regular schedule of touring and local performance, sharing bills with such artists as 400 Blows, the Circle Jerks, Burning Brides, Year Future, Heroine Sheiks, the Ataris, Har Mar Superstar, Parts and Labor, Ty Braxton, Big Business, Mastodon, and countless others.

In 2004, both Qui members were cast in "The Horrible Flowers," an independent film directed by Eric Tretbar. The following year they were cast on the Fuel TV series, "American Misfits."

Currently Qui is finishing their second record, "Dad," at Infrasonic Sound Studio in Los Angeles with producer/engineer Pete Lyman and prepairing for its release. More touring will follow.
