In 2007 QUICKDRAW’s RONSEN – HAWKINS has hit the ground running, signing 3 songs with VIACOM’s Extreme Music. Two of the songs are already being used in commercials and by HBO including “AMERICA AND ME” in a national PRILOSEC/NASCAR themed commercial. Their song “HOW THE WEST WAS WON” was #12 on the “AMERICAN IDOL underground” country charts for late May/early June.
2006 saw RONSEN – HAWKINS finishing 2nd out of the 12 national finalists in the “All American Superstar Competition” and the only duo ever chosen for the competition. They are poised to make a huge mark in country music. Based out of Nashville for a year and a half, singer, guitarist Steve Ronsen and bassist, backup vocalist Kevin Hawkins, while writing their new material, were touring with some of the top acts in country music. Ronsen & Hawkins have been penning all the songs for this multi – award winning contemporary country/ rock band as well as those for their a SONY/ USA Networks “ Nashville Star” finalist with whom they have also been touring. Kevin and Steve were nominated for Best Independent Country Song of the Year 2004 by the internet music group Just Plain Folks for their song ”Say Goodbye; I’m Gone”.
After leading a pop/ rock band with Tony Award winning singer Idina Menzel (Broadway shows “Wicked” & “Rent”), the boys founded the band QUICKDRAW, released 2 albums “Quickdraw” and “America and Me”and collected numerous awards along the way including:
Winner- Music Excellence Award for Outstanding Americana/ Country Act- Musician Exchange Magazine.

Winner - Denim and Diamonds Playoff Talent Showcase
Winner – Best Country Act- LI Music Awards
Nominated for a PBS Award for writing and producing WLIW spot
Featured on ABC’s Good Morning America in a live performance and on the NBC morning show of Nashville legend Charlie Chase of Crook and Chase.
Great tunes and a sack full of awards aren’t all these boys bring to the table. They are also seasoned professionals being no strangers to big stages, they have toured and shared dates with:
Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, Delbert McClinton, Kentucky Headhunters, Asleep at the Wheel, Chris Cagle, Gary Allen, Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Kathy Mattea, Steve Wariner, Brian White, Jessica Andrews, Buddy Jewell, Suzy Boggus, The Kinleys, Stephanie Bentley, Victoria Shaw, Andy Griggs to name a few, as well as performing Songwriter showcases with Beth Neilsen Chapman, Hugh Prestwood, Steve Sesskin and Richard Bach. They are currently working on their new album.
