Quiet Entertainer

Quiet Entertainer

BandEDMNew Age

Quiet Entertainer is like Blue Man Group meets DJ Shadow....like Sigur Ros meets J. Dilla...like Boards of Canada meets Timbaland. A quirky adrenaline rush performed live, while simultaneously a chilled-out soul relaxer on an iPod.

Biography

A self-proclaimed "introverted extrovert," Greg Freeman -- known as the Quiet Entertainer -- has always had a flair for performance and theatrics. While visiting New York for his Spring Break trip, he saw Blue Man Group and marveled at their stage presence and musical talent. He knew that he wanted to be an intriguing performer.

While in college, he was studying Theater but also was gravitating towards music. Late one night while watching a techno music show on MTV, he saw a video for DJ Shadow. He instantly crowned Shadow as his musical hero. He began to explore the DJ culture in both hip-hop and electronic music. It was during this time that the name "Quiet Entertainer" was formed.

Years later, he joined his first musical endeavor with a college friend, Ryan Emcee the Musical Mastermind. They called themselves ILL Gravy. It was an acoustic hip-hop project. After graduating from college, he was forced to try music without his friend who had helped him get started. He mainly did remixes of ILL Gravy tracks and then started making beats of his own. Soon, he began going to as many concerts as he could. He began to find inspiration from energetic and experimental bands.

Recently, he moved to Nashville to work for a record label. He has used this time to learn about the music business and also to experiment with his craft. He has been developing his own skills as a DJ and also experimenting with circuit bending. He recently has been supporting Nashville hip-hop acts, Spoken Nerd and Bobby Exodus. Also, he has been performing with Kevin Clay featuring 2'Shon and the SOLO.

Quiet Entertainer lives in Nashville and works 3 part time jobs while still crafting ways to create a subtly mind-blowing experience either in front of your eyes or ears!
