Through Your Eyes

Written By: Quigley James

THROUGH YOUR EYES

On a dirty old street in the heart of the city, In tattered clothes and worn out shoes

On a doorstep bed from beneath a blanket, of yesterdays news

The old woman stirs from a restless night's sleep and opens her eyes to the day

As some passersby mumble and point at her, she can't quite make out what they say

Fear and depression hold to her tight and the pain in her belly's so great

She tries to think back to just when it was, the last time that she ate

And she'll wander from alley to alley all day, rummaging through dumpsters and cans

Searching for treasure among the trash, putting her life in God's hands

There's a part of me saying "just let her be" but then a voice deep inside cries out Lord help me see

Through your eyes, through your eyes, let me see this hurting world through your eyes

Let me taste the hunger, let me touch the pain

Let your Spirit in me rise, may there be no compromise, let me see this hurting world through your eyes.

A young mother sits gazing out of the window, at her little boy playing out in the yard

Two more in diapers and one on the way, a single mom's life is so hard

Her husband has left her, found another to love, by now he's light years away

Lonely and tired she longs to give up yet she pushes herself through each day

She's got plans to attend a community college, the classes start up in the fall

For now she's content with the little she makes at her part time job at the mall

And she'll do her best to be both mom and dad and give all that position demands

Searching for comfort among the thorns and putting her life in God's hands

He grew up in a good home from deep in the suberbs, three sisters, a mom and a dad

And he always took hold of his wants and desires, never thankful for all that he had

At fifteen years old he dropped out of school as cocaine became his best friend

He couldn't see through the eyes of the world what was waiting around the bend

Now crouched in a corner in a crack house in Brooklyn, as the needle sinks deep in his vein

just for a moment he thinks he's in Heaven, above all the filth and the pain

He doesn't know it but back home his family is praying and taking a stand

Searching for answers through all the tears and putting his life in God's hands

Dancin With the Lamb

Written By: Quigley James

Dancin’ with the Lamb

TAKE HIM BY THE HAND,
LET HIM TWIRL YOU ROUND AND ROUND.
FOLLOW HIS COMMAND,
MOVE YOUR FEET TO THE JOYFUL SOUND.
SOON HE’LL HAVE YOU DANCIN’.
DANCIN’ LIKE YOU’VE NEVER DANCED BEFORE.
GOTTA KEEP ON DANCIN’,
DANCIN’ AS YOU GO OUT THROUGH THE DOOR.
THEN OUT ON THE STREET, WITH EVERYBODY YOU MEET,
YOU’LL BE DANCIN’ ALL THE MORE.

DANCIN’, DANCIN’ WITH THE LAMB.
DANCIN’, DANCIN’ WITH THE LAMB.
DANCIN’, DANCIN’ WITH THE LAMB.
HOW IT PLEASES THE FATHER, THE GREAT I AM,
WHEN WE DANCE, OH! WHEN WE DANCE WITH THE LAMB!

DANCE WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT,
WITH PEOPLE ALL ACROSS THE LAND,
AND WHEN THEY’VE SEEN HIS LIGHT,
THEY’LL WANT TO TAKE HIM BY THE HAND.
SOON WE’LL ALL BE DANCIN’,
JEW AND GENTILE, RICH AND POOR,
EVERYBODY DANCIN’,
DANCIN’ LIKE WE’VE NEVER DANCED BEFORE;
WITH ANGELS ABOVE, A CELEBRATION OF LOVE,
YA! DANCIN’ WITH THE LAMB.

THIS WORLD IS FULL OF LONELY PEOPLE
LIVING LIFE BY CHANCE.
THEY NEED TO KNOW THE RISEN SAVIOR.
OH, HOW THEY NEED TO DANCE!
