Quinn's Uncles

 Los Angeles, California, USA
BandRockPop

Started by the brother team of Tim and Jim Meade, Quinn's Uncle sounds like the Foo Fighters and the Allman Brothers had a baby, and then forced said baby to listen to Bon Jovi growing up. The brothers Meade are frequently joined by drummers and bassists, but also know how to rock the acoustics like Unplugged, circa '90. QU's sunny hits are infused with the CA spotlight, Chicago clouds and Michigan dirt. Other work pays the bills, but music fills the soul. They are Rock Gods with Day Jobs.

Biography

Quinn's Uncles began at the birth of younger member, Jim. Once he was old enough and deemed good enough to play with his older brother, the duo began writing music together. In 2001, the brothers officially formed the band, in hopes of one day musically ruling the world.

Tim took his philosophy major and spun it into gold, pursuing the ever-lucrative careers of theatre and music. He has toured the nation with the hit musical “Schoolhouse Rock Live” as well as with a cappella group Blind Man’s Bluff. Although his life-long dream of doing menial office work has gloriously come true, he’d still do something in music. You know, if it came up or whatever.

Jim upped the educational ante by getting a master’s degree in English. He has lent this unique command of his native tongue to every QU song, not to mention his numerous theatrical endeavors in both acting and directing. Jim is a Sagittarius. He enjoys long walks on the beach and face-melting guitar solos.

Taking their cue from their favorite bands, which include a mixture of Bon Jovi and the Beatles, Quinn's Uncles have focused on writing catchy rock songs and performing every last show like it was it was in a sold out stadium. That's just how they are. They're not afraid to bring the rock.

Lyrics

Say Uncle

Written By: Tim Meade/Quinn's Uncles

I got a feelin’ what you did to me
Wasn’t the first time
Wasn’t the first time
I got a feelin’, I got a feelin’
It wasn’t the first time
Wasn’t the first time

I got a feelin’ what you did to me
Won’t be the last time
Won’t be the last time
I got a feelin’, I got a feelin’
It won’t be the last time
Won’t be the last time

Round and round
And round and round
And round again

Round and round
We end up back
Where we began

I say uncle
I say uncle
Whoa
I say uncle
I say uncle
I say whoa

Do It Again

Written By: Time Meade/Quinn's Uncles

Baby, I think you’re perfect
Yeah, perfectly wrong for me
And don’t you think it’s a little suspect
That everybody else is so damn easy

Come on baby, let’s do it again
(Do it again)
Over and over and over again
(Do it again)
Come on baby, let’s do it again

All your friends think you’re crazy
Yeah, certifiably insane
But they think that when we’re fighting
Is the only time you’re screaming my name

Once is never enough
In a full-contact sport like love
Once is never enough
Never, ever enough

Exclusively

Written By: J. Meade

I felt her eyes push me back
I felt my blood begin to burn
I put my hands in my pocket
And let my body have its turn
Then the room started to cool
Like the ice inside my glass
She said, “can I fill you up?”
I just took a pass

Everything seems so strange
I used to play the game
The game’s the same
It must be me who’s changed

Whoa-no, woe is me
I feel my spreading wings
But I’m not free
Whoa-no, woe is me
I’ve fallen in love and forever I will be
Exclusively yours

And then this girl started to swirl
In a whirlwind of conversation
And the game of who was who
Only stirred my consternation
And amidst all of this
All that I can think of is you
Stumble into the street
Knowing going home’s the only thing that I can do

I hold my head in my hands
Here I am, heading home again
I’m a different man

Whoa-no, woe is me
I feel my spreading wings
But I'm not free
Whoa-no, woe is me
I've fallen in love and forever I will be
Exclusively Yours

The cage bird whistles a happy tune
He sings his tune, that crazy loon
All for the likes of you

Whoa-no, woe is me
I feel my spreading wings
But I'm not free
Whoa-no, woe is me
I've fallen in love and forever I will be
Exclusively Yours

Somewhere in the Middle

Written By: Jim Meade

Like a sunrise or a baby
I'm going crazy for this golden age
Cute cute, with our pet names
And the lovers games we play on the public stage

All beginnings end
The circle rounds the bend
And the days just blend in
And we try the same old lines
We've said a thousand times
Go back before goodbye
Because that's where we find love

Not much for small talk
Plenty to argue
I hope I don't carve you with these
Dagger eyes
Where's the romance?
It took a sick leave
Can you believe that we were once so blind

We finished out the chase
The dark horse won the race
And we look to find our pace
But it's harder to maintain
Than to go around again
Go back before mundane
Because that's where we find love

Somewhere in the middle
Somewhere in the middle
That's where we find love

The butterflies have flown
The seeds we've sown have grown
Our routine is our own
Between desire and the battlezones
That's the place that we call home

Somewhere in the middle
Somewhere in the middle
That's where we find love

Wrecking Ball

Written By: tim meade

Sometimes it feels like to stay alive
It takes everything you got
You're an LP record on 45
Better slow it down before it gets to hot

That's why we do it
That's why we do it to it, y'all
No way but through it
When your back's against the wall
Call the Good Time Wrecking Ball

So you can't believe where you are tonight
Girl, take a number, get in line
Watch your dreams fly by on the slip and slide
Better get it now why you still got time

That's why we do it
That's why we do it to it, y'all
No way but through it
When your back's against the wall
Call the Good Time Wrecking Ball

Wrecking ball, yeah, we smash on through
Whatever's getting you down
Wrecking ball, hey, we'll swing it to you
On right on cue, you don't have to wonder
You and your blues will be torn asunder

That's why we do it
That's why we do it to it, y'all
No way but through it
When your back's against the wall
Call the Good Time Wrecking Ball
