Bio

R. HANNAH
R. Hannah the American Balladeer is truly a Rose that grew from the concrete. Raised on the rough and rugged Southside of Houston Texas, he dealt with life the way it was handed to him, raw and uncut. Abandoned by his mother and father he became the unofficially adopted son of his grandparents. A broken heart and feelings of rejection drove him to write poems that expressed his pain and disappointment. One day he began matching his voice and poems with the music he taught himself to play on the piano and R. Hannah The Balladeer was born. The R stands for Randy who began his professional music career with Rap-a-Lot Records in 1994 as a singer, songwriter, producer, musician, and member of the R&B;/Soul group One Shade. As one of the main songwriters and producers for the group, he worked closely with multi-platinum producers Mike Dean (The Deans List), and N.O. Joe (Gumbo Funk) to write and produce the groups 11 song album. Because of the soulful sound and emotional sensation his voice evokes, he was featured on the southern Rap Star Lil Ke Kes album Dont Mess Wit Texas on the song Dont you know trk # 2 in 1997, and then again on Devin tha Dudes album The Dude in 1998 on the song Alright trk #6. That same year R. Hannah launched his solo career independently releasing his first solo album titled "Bout My Father's Business" an urban gospel project that received considerable radio airplay and record sales in the southwest region of the USA. After receiving his Associate Degree in Music, R. Hannah released his second solo album "Music Theory" in February 2013, displaying his experience and skills as a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer. Music Theory the subject, is a lot like life some parts are easy to understand and other parts are very complex non-the less patience, practice, and commitment are required to be successful at both. R. Hannah delivers on his promise of excellence in meaningful content, quality sound, and the kind of creativity that Soul Music fans enjoy.
