Bio
California born singer Marisa Duchowny (The Rabbit) and New York-native Neill MacCallum (The Hare) first started playing music together after Neill placed an ad on Craigslist looking for a female multi-instrumentalist. Marisa answered the call and they met a week later in Central Park, with guitars in-hand. They played their songs together and quickly discovered their voices blended beautifully to create rich and resounding harmonies. Now, a little over a year of playing together, they have found their niche in the music community and are ready to carve out their own place.
Fresh off recording their first album together, this sweet and nostalgic Indie-Folk-Pop duo bring an intimacy to their music that can hush a room to silence. Vulnerable, honest, and relatable, the Rabbit & the Hare's music transcends the typical music spectrum and reaches more classic and timeless depths with their personal lyrics and catchy tunes. Drenched in inspiration from: The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Simon and Garfunkel, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, and Cat Stevens, their music draws you in to their soothing and dreamy world.
Whether accompanied by the exciting sounds of synth, drums, guitar, bass, violin, and cello, or just the bare-bones, stripped down sound of their voices, this pair will most definitely leave you wanting more.
