BandCountrySinger/Songwriter

My music is simplistic. I'm not the best singer, which is a harsh reality and I'm not the best guitarist either but as far as writing, I write about what I know and I try to make it mean something...to me anyway. If you don't get it then that's ok, you don't have to, but it would be nice if you did.

Biography

I love music and I love to write. As far as my story goes, I'm not quite sure I have one yet, but I would like to make one. I grew up with a very loving family, well...sometimes loving sister. I graduated from high school and went to college for a year before realizing that I was being smothered; I wasn't doing what I wanted and that was to make music. So I came home and started doing it, learned some chords on a pretty guitar my daddy gave me, and started writing actual music. It's a little funny how a couple of chords and a sweet melody can be so satisfying; gratifying even. It's hard starting from scratch, and trying to figure yourself out along the way.

For You

Written By: Rachael Ann Handy

For you: RachaelAnn Handy

I take you in and all I can do
Is push you out cause I’m sufferin’
And you say that you care,
I know youre just being patient

And you like when a girl thinks you’re funny
And you love when I say you’re the one
I don’t know why I'd pray that you call me
Cause I know that the sorrys gonna come

And my wide eyes just get wider
And long nights just get longer
And you knew all along that
I wasn’t what you wanted

I try to find the long roads all I ever do is drive now
It’s the only way I keep my feet flat on the ground
I can’t see who you really are but
I can tell that it’s someone selfish
You always call me baby or sweetheart
And I’m sure you never mean it

You call me and tell your stories
Like all the other girls before me
Now I sit at home and wait
Hopin’ that your mind might change
And tears on my cheeks shine like
City streets at midnight
You smile when you lie
Cause you like when I cry for you

Somehow your timings perfect
And somehow your words were so pretty
I fell for every stupid line you ever told me
If I’d have seen this comin’
Then I never would have let myself show
I never would have wasted my time on someone
I could have let go

So I'll lay down with just a whisper
While you are thinkin’ damn I'll miss her
Wishin’ that you could undo
Everything you put me through

And Tears one my cheeks shine like
City streets at midnight
You smile when you lie
Cause you like when I cry for you

Tears on my cheeks shine like
City streets at midnight
You smile when you lie
Cause you like when I cry

Tears one my cheeks shine like
City streets at midnight
I'll smile when you lie
Cause I won't try again for you
Cause I won't try again for you
Cause I won't try again for you

What You Never Say

Written By: Rachael Ann Handy

Walkin’ to you house in the middle of the night
I get the butterflies
The kind I like
Wonderin’ what’s takin’ you so long to meet me half the way
The trees are screamin’ honey I think it’s best you turn your butt around right now
But they don’t have a clue what I’m feelin’, no they don’t know the ground from the ceilin’

Why would I come all this way
Just to see your pretty face
And why would you let me walk all alone to your front door
Could it be that you are scared
Maybe you are unaware
Of the possibility that you would end up wanting me

Well your eyes say
Everything I need to hear
So you don’t have to talk
I’ll take ever quiet moment that we make and hide em’ in the dark
In the dark

I hang around your steps so I can catch my breath
And muster up the nerve
Shushn’ all the lady bug and army ants and all the slugs
The spider webs are stickin’ to my ponytail
It’s clear to see they don’t like you
But they don’t know you quite as well

And do my eyes tell you what you want to hear
Cause I don’t want to talk
I’ll take very quiet moment that we make and turn the noises off
Turn them all off

You’re every laugh and photograph
And all the sun I’ve ever had
The reason why I go to sleep
So I can see you in my dreams
Right before I tied my shoes
Right before I left the house
I figured out
What this mess is all about

And do my eyes tell you what you want to hear
Cause I don’t want to talk
I’ll take every quiet moment that we make and tip them on my tongue
On my tongue
Walkin’ to your house in the middle of the night I get the butterflies
The kind I like

Baby Blue

Written By: Rachael Ann Handy

She tries to rest her head
but the weight she bares; too much
And she thinks of what they said
how he's had enough
And he can't hold on any longer
every touch he feels is numb
The poor girl can't help but wonder
why she's not the one

Maybe it's tomorrow
the day that she'll forget
All the memories like handprints like bruises on her neck
and she only wants to hide but she only waits
She's waiting for the secrets
to finally let her break

So she goes inside and shuts the door
the flood is comin' soon
And the rain fallin' from her eyes was black
when she found her baby blue

She tries to rest her head
but the weight she bares; too much
and she thinks of what they said
how he can't wake up
and she's huggin' on his neck so tight knowin' he won't move
and all she needs is baby back
but babys already blue

So she goes inside and shuts the door
she's starting with her room
and the chalk white paint from the walls ran black
when she found her baby blue

oh she's dancin' up the stairs
swayin' back and forth
the smell of baby on her hands
oh what will she do when the sweet wine in her glass hit the floor
and splits in two rain and wine
what will she do when the rain in wine in her glass turn black
while her babys turnin' blue

Discography

Not at all. I am a complete and utter amateur, but I know that this is what I want.
