Bio
Rachel Bishop began her music career at the ripe old age of 4 on the piano. With the encouragement of friends and family Rachel started writing music in 5th grade and began writing and recording in 7th grade. Growing up in Stockton CA didn’t exactly make for huge fame and fortune through out high school, so she moved to Sacramento CA to see what was out there once she graduated. Since graduating, Rachel has played numerous shows, festivals, and national competitions. Placing 5th out of 135 artists in the Connection Competion put Rachel on the industry map in May of 2006. With attention from various industry professionals, and labels (Tooth and Nail, Fervent, The Militia Group), it is no doubt that Rachel Bishop is the next up and coming singer/songwriter, being compared to bands like The Cranberries, Eisley, and Copeland, and also singer/songwriters Patti Griffin, Sarah McLachlan, and Tori Amos.
