Rachel Collins is a talented songwriter who performs her folky pop songs with a fantastic band. Her heartfelt, quirky pop tunes feature catchy horn riffs, bluesy melodies, anthemic choruses and above all an expressive vocal matchless to others.

Biography

Rachel Collins is a London based singer and composer with high hopes for the future. Inspired by the music of Kate Bush and Laura Marling, compared to Eliza Doolittle and Regina Spektor, her thoughtful and original songs have been appreciated across London at countless live performances and on the nation's radio waves on BBC 6Music's Introducing and LBC's Young London shows.

Tipped by many to be a star of the future, Rachel Collins is a unique solo artist committed to going the extra mile. She delivers high-energy, impressive performances of her soulful pop songs with a hugely talented and dynamic band that includes a brass section, backing vocals and percussion. Last summer Rachel and her band gave two fantastic open-air performances at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival and she hopes to take her music to more festivals in the future.

Rachel's debut EP Things To Do is a feel-good CD filled with quirky pop tunes featuring heartfelt lyrics, catchy horn riffs, bluesy melodies and anthemic choruses topped off with an expressive vocal. Whilst currently writing her debut album, Rachel continues to perform and promote her EP as much as possible and is always on the lookout for new opportunities and exciting places to play.

Luke Smith - Capital FM

"I really like the way you sound soulful but quite English"
Fraser T Smith (Tinchy Strider, James Morrison, Nelly Furtado)

"Well written, thought provoking songs combined with a magical and moving voice – this girls got it all!”
Chris Brooks – Capital FM

"I get a lot of new bands/artists stuff sent to me and your music is considerably better than most - I think you have huge potential"
Simmy Richman - The Independent

Lyrics

The List

Written By: Rachel Collins

I FOUND A LETTER IN YOUR CAR
WRITING ALL THE DOUBTS YOU’VE HAD SO FAR
YOU’VE HAD SO FAR
TURNING THE PAGES ONE BY ONE
I THINK OF ALL THE THINGS I COULD HAVE DONE
I SHOULD HAVE DONE

SO I WROTE A LIST AND IT GOES LIKE THIS
DON’T GIVE UP WHEN LITTLE THINGS GO WRONG
YOU’VE GOT TO KEEP ON BE STRONG, COMPROMISE SOME
IT TAKES TWO TO START A STUPID FIGHT

BUT I KNOW WE’LL BE ALRIGHT
AND I KNOW WE’LL BE ALRIGHT

SOME THINGS ARE BETTER LEFT UNSAID
BUT THESE THOUGHTS JUST WON’T ESCAPE MY HEAD
ESCAPE MY HEAD
AND THEN I ASK MYSELF THIS
IF I WERE YOU WOULD I DO THE SAME?
AND IF MY ANSWER IS YES
THEN YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY ONE TO BLAME

'COS I WROTE A LIST AND IT GOES LIKE THIS
DON’T GIVE UP WHEN LITTLE THINGS GO WRONG
YOU’VE GOT TO KEEP ON BE STRONG, COMPROMISE SOME
IT TAKES TWO TO START A STUPID FIGHT

AND I KNOW WE’LL BE ALRIGHT
AND I KNOW WE’LL BE ALRIGHT
AND I KNOW WE’LL BE ALRIGHT
YES I KNOW WE’LL BE ALRIGHT
