Biography

Once again, Rachel Eckroth finds herself taking on a new musical identity. It's 2009 and so far, her talents have allowed her to grace the stage as a jazz pianist, an Off-Broadway musical director, a smooth jazz sideman, backup vocalist in a reggae band, accordionista, and keyboardist for a '70s teen idol. Now, she finds herself penning lyrics that mirror events in her life, while combining vast musical influences to create a sound that reflects her true self.

Lyrics

Gold

Written By: Rachel Eckroth

I turned the corner yesterday
My eyes squinting as the sun rose
The sun rose to meet me as I met you

We drove a mile across the moon
Stars were spinning for us
Threads of gold
As you held me near
Gold

And we danced among the stars
A million miles away the world was ours
And a million miles would never be to far
With you

We spoke of dreams to touch the sun
We felt the warmth of the glow
From a single ray above
My love
Gold

La da da da da dee
In your arms
Your arms gold

And we danced among the stars
A million miles away the world was ours
And a million miles would never be to far
With you

And if I seem to talk a little more than I usually do
And if that smile on my face lasts for days
And if the worked for a while
Belongs to just us two
It's because of you
