Rachel Fine is pleased to announce her debut album, Own Your Own. This 11-song collection pulsates with dark confessions and haunting melodies. Track after track, Rachel delivers a signature intimacy that gently dances over a brooding back-beat. Her tender vocals melt, dripping onto an undercurrent of dark funk. Rhythms entice. Harmonies seduce. Lyrics confide.
Own Your Own is birthed from the love of poetry and the exploration of groove. Although often referred to as electronica, Rachel's ragged, edgy sound embodies a variety of genres that has drawn comparisons as divergent as Jill Scott, Portishead, Cat Power and Fiona Apple.
Recently recorded at Isa Badda Badda Studios in Brooklyn with composer/producer Timothy Schletter, Own Your Own is reflective of the sounds of 70's funk, Philly Soul, broken beat and hip hop interlaced with the soulful styling of guitar and Fender Rhodes. Through their musical partnership, Rachel and Timothy have found an uncommonly beautiful blend of mood and rhythm.
