Bio

'I am a singer/songwriter, I play guitar and bash around on piano and a few other instruments occasionally. Music has always been my therapy. I have been playing guitar since I was 8, writing songs since I was 11 and singing for as long as I can remember.
I am a cynic and a romantic in equal measure. My songs are honest (perhaps too honest sometimes), but I am inspired by people, experiences, and t...he little menial things that sometimes, can mean so much. I hope that you can recognise someone or something in my songs.
Rachel.'

As well as flying solo I am also lucky enough to play with a fantastic backing band ‘The Remedies’ who are not only fantastic musicians, but also some of my best friends.
Here is a little bit of information about them...

KEVIN ROSE- Lead Guitarist
A guitarist who has been compared to the likes of Peter Green and Dave Gilmour, he plays with passion and commitment. His subtle tones can tug at the heart strings like very few other guitarists can. I met Kev at college and we have been playing and writing together ever since.

LLOYD LANDEG- Bass Guitar
A bass player who is not only technically brilliant, but highly creative in the parts he plays. He also studied at Chichester College with us.

CHAZ McLEOD- Drums
Chaz is simply, a stunning drummer who is very much in demand. He is a seasoned session player, and has been playing in bands with me since we studied at college together!

RACHEL HAWKER AND THE REMEDIES have toured the south coast performing at some top venues and will be performing at a number of festivals again this summer.
As well as this the boys and I have been endeavouring in a busking tour summer. An idea that cropped up in the pub one day (like many an idea does). The band have been turning up at town and city centres across the south coast- setting up, playing, and seeing what happens.
You can find Rachel’s ‘Busking Diaries’ on youtube and the video section of the website.
