Rachel Martin

“Young Diva” was born Rachel Danielle Martin in Dallas, Texas on October 7, 1990. She had one sister who was 4 ½ years older. Rachel was an even-tempered, but slow developing, child: She seldom cried, even if she missed a feeding.

Her musical abilities were always overshadowed by older more mature singers at church, like her sister, who has an outstanding soprano voice. Rachel nonetheless hung around, learning all of the words to all of the songs. Besides the influence of solo artists like Alicia Keys (her favorite), Jill Scott and Aretha Franklin, she credits her sister Kristen Martin and Gaye Arbuckle-Sneed as the most significant influences on her current singing style. And guess what? Her favorite female singers are Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, Kristen Martin and Gaye Arbuckle-Sneed.

Rachel has always sang alto, but one Sunday, dad mistakenly queued up a song previously led by a soloist who was no longer a member of the church. Without any viable alternatives mid-song, he directed Rachel to take the mic and the rest is history. She was discovered!! Now, she regularly leads songs at church.

Now, a 14-year old, she leads an active life: band, choir, track, basketball, church activities, hanging out with her adopted sister, Shay. She still enjoys singing and was singing “Amazing Grace” in the lobby of her building when someone picked up a cell phone and called a second person on a cell phone, who called her producer, Milan Ross, who (you guessed it) was also on a cell phone!

Now Rachel is sharing her music talents with the rest of the world with her new single "Summertime" co-written and produced by Milan Ross. She's young, gifted and talented introducing...... Rachel Martin.
