Biography

A natural talent by the age of six, Rachel Renae developed song writing skills by playing small melodies on her keyboard for several years. Her influences growing up were Mariah Carey, Ray Charles, No Doubt, Johnny Cash, and Janis Joplin. As a teenager, she began taking guitar lessons with Mr. Paul Souza. He taught how to read music and encouraged her songwriting skills. A few years later, she met an extraordinary man named Ray Ruffin through a friend, Frank Blanas. Ray was a remarkable producer and promoter who had experience producing records for ABC and Dot Records prior to establishing his own label, Oak Records. He also helped many artist with there careers, such as Pat Boone, Reba McIntyre, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Hank Williams Jr. and many more. He also shed light on many aspects in Rachel Renae's singing career. He taught her how to improve herself as a singer and a writer, and mentored Rachel for a couple of years at American Recording Studio, where Ray was working at the time with Bill Cooper and Richie Podolor. After working with Ray for a couple of years, Rachel grew a bond with him. Unfortunately, Ray passed away in September of 2005. After this distressing event, her passion was re-ignited. Not only did she need to spread a positive message to people, but she needed to do it for Ray. He had made a huge impact in her life. So Rachel continues to sing across California with her newly formed band, the Revolvers. Singing at over 250 shows within the past two years, she has been nominated for a music award for "Best Unplugged Artist," and named "Best Female Vocalist of the Year." She is also currently playing on Online radio stations nationally! The newly formed band hopes to kick off her new album "Music Junkie" in September of 2008. Band members include Dave Hanley on lead electric guitar, Ray Vizaro a.k.a The Grand Vazeer, on Drums, Ed Saunders a.k.a. Mr. Sunshine, on Bass, and herself as lead singer, and rhythm electric guitar player. Together they form an eclectic popping flavor mix of the 60's and beyond. All Original Rock! They continue to perform together across California with support from their local community, family, friends, church, and of course FANS!

Lyrics

Music Junkie

Written By: Rachel Renee Bargas

I’m late for school. I’m late for work, and I don’t care cuz’ I’m a music junkie.
I’m a music Junkie.
And I can’t get enough.

If I had a house, I’d sell it too. I’d live on a beach cuz’ I’m a music junkie.
I’m a music junkie.
And I can’t get enough.

So won’t ya sing. Won’t ya sing with me? So won’t ya sing? Won’t ya sing with me? Ooooh.
Cuz’ I….
I’m a music junkie.

Every where I go, music follows me. Can’t you see, that I’m a music Junkie?
I’m a music junkie.
And I can’t get enough.
And I can’t get enough.
Cuz I I’m a music junkie.

I Still Believe

Written By: Rachel Renee Bargas

Back when I was young, I use to be so dumb
And maybe I still am

I still take my chances
I still believe in romancin‘
I believe in love
I still believe in love

After all this heartache after all this pain
It won’t go away
But I still believe in love

So here I go again
My heart is broke again
And that’s okay with me

I still take my chances
I still believe in romancin’
I believe in love
I still believe in love

After all this heartache after all this pain.
It won’t go away
But I still believe in love

Even if I’m old and alone
I will believe

Even if I’m old and alone
I will believe

Nothing can take it from me
Nothing can take it from me
Nothing can take it from me
Nothing can take it from me
Yeah, Nothing can take it from me
Nothing can take it from me

Yeah! Yeah! Ooohh Yeah…..

I still believe in love
I still believe in love

I'm Not Dead

Written By: Rachel Renee Bargas

Listen up. Listen closely. I’ve got. I’ve got something to say
I said
I’ve got an important message
I’ve got. I’ve got to spread it around

(Chorus)
Cuz’ I’m not dead anymore
I’m not dead anymore
I’m still alive, so won’t cha come and celebrate
(Repeat Chorus)

So I went to a friends house
I started laughing cuz’ he tried to take me down
I said
no no. I said not this time.
You’re not ganna take me down

(Chorus)
Cuz’ I’m not dead anymore
I’m not dead anymore
I’m still alive, so won’t cha come and celebrate
(Repeat Chorus)

(Musical Bridge) Interlude

Cuz’ I’m not dead anymore
I’m not dead anymore
I’m still alive, so won’t cha come and celebrate
(Repeat 2x)

Won’t you come and celebrate
Won’t you come and celebrate
Won’t you come and celebrate
