Biography

Rachel Wiggins is a young award winning singer/songwriter from the Atlanta area. When performing live she plays an acoustic musical mixture of her thoughtful originals and popular covers.  She began writing her own music only 3 years ago yet her songs are instantly familiar, refreshingly organic, surprisingly emotional and inarguably cool.  Rachel has been influenced by the rock of Grace Potter, the bluesy jazz of Norah Jones and the crossover country tunes of Sheryl Crow.  Playing gigs around Atlanta, Nashville and many places in between, is a regular part of life for this full time high school student.  Rachel has recently released her debut album, A Hundred Places with some of her songs receiving airplay on ATL Radio 105.7 FM as well as internet and college radio.  Her album is now available on iTunes.

Lyrics

Runnin' While You Can

Written By: Rachel Wiggins /Erik Grant Bennett

You’ve been staring at me through a dark lens
So how can you see that I’m trying to figure out what I ever meant to you

Silence burning through me, I can smell the smoke
And I’m dying and I really wanna know
Why did you ever stop loving me?

Take your sunglasses off so I can see your lies
I see your bags are packed – am I supposed to be surprised?
It’s another shot of heartache every time you land
And I just can’t understand…guess you’re just runnin’ while you can

You’ve been teaching me I’ll never be enough
What could I have done to be worthy of your love?

Take your sunglasses off so I can see your lies
I see your bags are packed – am I supposed to be surprised?
It’s another shot of heartache every time you land
And I just can’t understand…guess you’re just runnin’ while you can

(Guitar Solo)

I’ve been thinking back to when you used to hold me
Maybe I imagined that you told me I’d always be Daddy’s little girl

Take your sunglasses off and look me in the eyes
I see your bags are packed – am I supposed to be surprised?
It’s another shot of heartache every time you land, oh yes it is
Maybe you can help me understand…why you keep runnin’ while you can
