Rackhouse Pilfer are a six-piece bluegrass, folk, alt-country and Americana Band based in Sligo, on the northwest coast of Ireland.
Formed through lifelong musical friendships and bands ranging from folk and blues, to American country, traditional Irish music and even heavy metal. These early influences have brought the band to a radically distinctive sound and high octane performance on stage.
Along with original songs, the band performs bluegrass & folk songs, old-time country songs & reinterpretations of their favourite artists/music.
2013 opens with new audiences, new horizons, and new territories; Rackhouse Pilfer eagerly anticipate a busy calendar year with festivals and shows across Ireland and beyond.
Building on our success to date, we are looking forward to sharing our music with your audience, and help make this year as exciting for them as it is for us!

"Rackhouse Pilfer"

A high-octane six-piece Bluegrass and American Roots band. They perform their own unique take on songs from Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Adams, Gillian Welch, Steve Earl and John Hiatt as well as traditional Bluegrass songs and originals. each of the six members sing and there are big harmonies. Line up and instrumentation is Leon Mooney acoustic guitar, harmonica and vocals, Willie Kelly-acoustic guitar, drums and vocals, Les Jones mandolin and vocals, Fiachra Cunningham - fiddle, slide guitar and vocals, Mark McGovern - banjo, acoustic guitar and vocals and Duane Gallagher - double bass and vocals. - Sligo Live - Ireland's Folk, Root & Indie Festival 23rd - 28th October

We've just confirmed a top slot in 'La Roche Bluegrass Festival France' & have many other festival gigs this summer. We put a lot of energy into our live shows & promise to give your audience a heartfelt raucous lively performance they won't forget!!

Building on our successful album launch 'Back to the Country' Rackhouse Pilfer are touring all over Ireland & Europe this summer to promote their Debut Album. Having formed in 2012 the lads are very excited about having come so far in such a short time. 'Sligo has been very good to us!!! But now it's time let the rest of the world see what we can do & make Sligo proud'!!!
