Racquel Simone a 21 year old, native New Yorker, born in Mt.Vernon, New York brings a refreshing sound to the music industry. Her style of writing and unique voice puts you in a spell and pulls you right into the moment, like a classic movie or your favorite novel. This multitalented young lady’s passion for music began in her early stage of life. As an infant it is said by family and friends that her coo’s were more like a warm melody, and her cries were like songs of an angel. Her rich Caribbean heritage and strong American pride creates a fusion of artistry. Racquel Simone’s passion for music has become like a life long friend, and her love for humanity opens her heart to share it with the world; no stranger to hard work, and self motivated. At age three, Racquel Simone picked up a microphone and began singing her favorite tunes inspired by artist like Tina Turner, Kenny Rogers, Luther Vandross, Madonna, Tracy Chapman, Whitney Houston, Michal Jackson, Bob Marley, Bebe and Cece Winans, Frank Sinatra and so many others. She also took her first cat walk down the runway, modeling featured fashions from her mothers children’s line. At age 4 RS’s was really on her toes, studying ballet, which gave her grace and poise. Preparing to enter kindergarten RS’s mother had her tested for her speech and she was declared a child prodigy. Relocating to her mothers home land in Jamaica with older sister Dominique and step father in “92. RS attended private school and embraced her culture in the five years spent. At age 7 Racquel Simone landed her first leading part in a girls singing group, singing “Stop in the name of Love”. She was truly bitten at this time. Armed with a strong sense of culture this experience would have proven to have had a lasting impression on Racquel. Relocating to Atlanta in 1997. Racquel Simone pursued her passion by enrolling in performing arts. She served as an ambassador for her high school, chosen by virtue of her communication and interpersonal skills. Driven for success, she excelled in performing arts performing songs by popular artist throughout Atlanta, managing the varsity basketball team, lettering in cross country, and then graduating in 2005 as her class Secretary. While attending the University of West Georgia, she met her loving husband Rowe (hip hop artist and writer). Racquel Simone and husband together delivers a powerful chemistry as a creative team called Roc.And.Rowe. They share a beautiful Daughter. Racquel Simone is truly today’s American girl next door. Standing 5’11, with a girl like charm and her smart sense of style, she always makes an entrance, like the music she writes; Unforgettable. This girls got swag.
