Radah

Dah, Radah's lead singer, was born in '82 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In the 1990's, the country was marked by constant political up and downs including several coups and a three year embargo that changed things forever. Radah music is about the Haitian situation, one that is both beautiful and painful, fierce and sad. Rhythm is the foundation of Haitian culture, and as a result is a fundamental element in Radah music. The songs are written in creole and in english, and is, if anything, conscious music, with hynotizing rhythms, tribal yet modern sounding. Today, the Haitian people continue their struggle for independence, although they are known to be the first independent black nation. They are plagued by division when the answer is written on the Haitian flag:"L'union Fait La Force" or "In unity lies power". Haiti has a rich history and what is happening today will determine its future. Radah music was born to unite, to promote consciousness and non-violence, and lastly, to tell the profound story of the Haitian people.
