Bio

From the Flatlands of Memphis to the Hilltops of Chattanooga and back again there has arisen a new diva of Alternative Soul known as “Radiance”. Her eclectic style of mixing the headbanging rock, sultry soul and hip hop “that never stops” promises to lure the ears of Mainstream America with its sweet melodious tune from clubs to church houses. She has traveled throughout the United States from Detroit, Michigan to Atlanta, Georgia spreading the word of Jesus Christ and challenging the world to know a Savoir who longs to be known by them. As a child growing up in a God-Fearing home she learned that the only way to touch people’s heart is through love and it is her mission to communicate this love through each heart-filled track. As a singer/songwriter she has written songs and received background vocal credits for various artists locally and nationally. She released a demo CD in 2004 entitled “Dry Your Eyes”, mostly as a promotional work. She landed her first major singing/acting role in a local play called Surrounded by Sin which toured various churches around Memphis and was featured during Rust Colleges’ African American Arts and Culture week. She was a featured artist at Memphis’s Juneteenth Music Festival June 2004, and has been featured at various venues and churches around Memphis. She was also one of ten semi-finalist chosen in the 2004 Kraft Gospel Music Talent Search sponsored by Mary Mary and this year she was a finalist in the Xposure Memphis Sony Talent Showcase 2005. Her road into the music industry was truly a long one. Her interest in music began with a piano given to her at the age of 6. As she grew older she began expanding her performing arts skills in dance and singing in church. In High School she was a participant in the All-state Chorus and the West-Tennessee Chorus. Her desire was to pursue a degree in Music, but pursued a degree in Chemistry at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) after being discouraged from it. In college, she sang in talent shows and other local collegiate events. She was the Worship leader of The Intervarsity Collegiate Fellowship and even sang along Donnie McClerkin in the Littleton H. Mason Gospel Choir at UTC. But still neglected to yield to the call to the industry, and went on to become a Physical Science teacher. After much prayer, the Lord to opened a door for her to leave the education profession. And trusting God’s direction she met a producer, released a demo and began touring with a Christian rock and Acoustic Hip-Hop band with talks of a record deal in Detroit. But after the deal fell through, and after much prayer, she was led back home to attend the University of Memphis where she is could finally study the music business. Her future hopes are to sign with an independent label, tour around the country, and eventually start a local management firm of her own.
