Kati Schardl of the Tallahassee Democrat's Limelight calls RadioActiveMaterial "Young and Yummy!" - Tallahassee Democrat

"RAM"

of ACME Rhythm and Blues writes of the upcoming performance of "Radioactive Material (aka R.A.M., the great teen band that played last year’s Val’s dance and tore it up on tunes by The Cars, JET, The Beatles & Rolling Stones, and other classic rock acts)." - Kevin Ogden

"Springtime Tallahassee"

We were pleased to have RadioActiveMaterial participate in the Springtime Tallahassee. You were a delight to watch and a joy to work with. The crowd's response let us know that we made the right decision in selecting you to perform. It is our hope that you will continue to perform for us year after year!

Bio

This group of talented young people has been playing together since January 2005. The chemistry between these kids is electrifying! They have fun making music and that fun and excitement over flows into the audience.

RadioActiveMaterial band members are the new rising musical stars from Florida. These young people will be the musical hit makers of the future! The group consists of Julian, 15, Caleb, 14, James, 14 and Patrick, 16.

Julian plays lead guitar and is also an excellent singer/songwriter providing strong lead vocals as well as harmonies. Julian got his first guitar when he was 12 years old along with a book of the top 100 rock songs of all time. Before long, he had taught himself to play dozens of those songs. It wasn’t long before Julian began writing his own songs with a style that ranges from driving rock to beautiful ballads. Four of his original songs have already been copyrighted and recorded. Jay graduated from Middle School with top honors where he also played trumpet in the band and guitar in the jazz band. He attends High School as a freshman in honors classes and also sweats it out in the Athletics program in the J.R.O.T.C.

Caleb attended C.O.A.S.T. Charter School last year where he was the music teacher’s assistant. He assisted in teaching songs to the students and teaching guitar. He won the Music Student of the Year Award. He is now attending Middle School. In the band he plays bass guitar and acoustic guitar, backup vocals and lead vocals. At last count Caleb plays six instruments. He recently has started giving private guitar lessons. He is also a cancer survivor of three years.

James is a freshman at High School. He has been playing the guitar for a little over a year. His distinctive rock style has added a new dimension to the band. This can be heard especially in songs like “Dream On” and “Sweet Home Alabama”. James is also the web designer for the band’s web site.

Patrick has been playing drums for four years. He played for the Middle School Band. He is also a freshman in High School. Patrick
keeps a smooth steady rhythm that keeps the band right on beat. He keeps the band rocking!
