"RadioKing supporting George Lynch"

George Lynch/RadioKing - The Aardvark, 12/16/05

Local band RadioKing opened with a nice set of originals, including “Change” and “Goodbye.” Unlike so many boring, follow-the-trend or Pantera wannabe bands, these guys have potential.
After a LONG set change, former Dokken guitarist George Lynch finally took the stage to the delight of the crowd. Unfortunately, the set was plagued by every sound problem imaginable! Luckily, the crowd was forgiving and just happy to see their hero perform in such an intimate setting. Vocalist Andrew Freeman, talented bassist Martin Andersson and drum legend Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath/Dio) backed George. Though no Don Dokken, Freeman did a great job, especially on heavier material like “Lightning Strikes” and “Kiss of Death.” Lynch was in top form; soloing and shredding like a madman. Other highlights included Lynch Mob’s “River of Love” and “For A Million Years,” Dokken’s “Unchain the Night,” “Breaking the Chains” and Lynch’s signature instrumental, “Mr. Scary.” (Andy Laudano)

Bio

Combining an eclectic variety of influences from all styles and genres ranging from old-school Rock and Soul to Modern Rock with grooves, RadioKing is on the way to creating their own unique style and sound by blending catchy, melodic hooks, well crafted songs, diverse and powerful vocals and expert musicianship that harkens back to the days where a successful and popular Rock band not only meant having great songs but being able to play your respective instrument with style, taste and perfection.

These are the elements that drive this Dallas based quintet to keep pushing the envelope in not only the art of songwriting and sonic experimentation but in pushing their playing to constant higher levels and doing so in a way that it doesn’t take away from but adds to the context of listener friendly songs that people can remember and sing along with regardless of how heavy, soft or pop oriented they may be.

Now that the band is getting set to take their elaborate, accessible rock 'n' roll on the road, RadioKing plans to spread their stirring sonic gospel the best way they know how; by getting onstage and doing what comes naturally.

RadioKing, formed in 2005 is comprised of former members of the Dallas based Rock band Seventh Veil and the addition of newcomer and rising young Superstar vocalist, Rus Chaney.
