"DOPE or WEAK? Radioviolet: Towards the Maelstrom"

I listened and was quite impressed. Maelstrom is one of those songs I feel that can motivate your entire day. Radioviolet is really the complete package in my personal opinion.

?
Michael Terpak(lead singer) started up Radioviolet originally as a solo project. After releasing the first CD entitled, Just Like Yesterday, Terpak decided that he wanted to turn the project into a band. He went out in search of musicians to help fill the positions required. Which led him to finding Marshall Cantu (rhythm/lead guitar), Blake Ross (keys), Emmett Roth(drums) and, Kyle Schmitt(bass) as the new members of Radioviolet. After establishing the new members, Radioviolet started working on new material for their second CD. After a year and a half, Radioviolet finished recording and named the album Constellation Drive. Radioviolet, an up and coming band from Northern Virginia is a new underground act whose sound is monstrous. If you like big time arena-music that’s very full sounding and will surely get your blood boiling, then you need to check these guys out. Radioviolet just released their new full-length album Constellation Drive and they just released a new music video featuring a song from that album called Towards The Maelstrom. The new music video captures a bunch of live shows that these guys have done and does a good job at showing how much energy they have. Not only that, but Radioviolet is giving away their entire CD for FREE! Again check these guys out and download the entire album at Radioviolet.com for FREE while you still can! - It's the Chutes

"Radioviolet - Just Like Yesterday"

Given a cursory listen, one might write Radioviolet off as belonging the soundtrack of a teen drama... that would be a mistake on the listener's part! Don't let the melodic rock style fool you, Just Like Yesterday is a truly deep album with soulful lyrics that actually provoke thought.
Unlike many songs out there aiming for what Radioviolet has achieved, and in that effort come off very fake and shallow.

Instruments are tight, and pacing is a perfect fit with the lyrical content of each song. Vocals keep an "adult alternative" feel for the most part, while instruments run between melodic rock (that evokes the softer, less pop oriented, non-psychedelic songs of The Beatles) to alternative and blues heavy rock and back to melodic again. The songs that focus on love (new, lost, returning, and humanitarian) are modernly poetic, that is not the oxymoron some Lit majors would have you believe, in a refreshing way.

Bio

While most of the band is still toiling through college classes, DC-based rock band Radioviolet has already won a legion of devoted fans. The band has turned heads with its albums Constellation Drive, which has received airplay on DC101, and Just Like Yesterday, a record that Tastes Like Rock! Magazine awards four stars and calls “modernly poetic.” The first single from Just Like Yesterday, "Bluebird", has earned significant college radio airplay, and along with live favorites "In My Shadow" and "Lifesize Feature Film", showcases the stellar songwriting and soaring harmonies that define Radioviolet's music. Fans may download both albums in their entirety free of charge at the band’s official Web site, Radioviolet.com.

Radioviolet recently performed for more than 1,000 people at the Vienna Oktoberfest, and has played numerous shows in the greater-DC area, performing regularly at the Rock and Roll Hotel, DC9, and Iota. The band released its third official video (for "Baby Girl") in June 2011, and just completed an east coast tour in fall 2011.
