Bio

Catchy, addictive and upbeat are all words that have been used to describe Rae Solomon's music. But if you really want to get to know her look no further than "Country-Fied Chick", the first single off of her debut album "The Long Road From The Emerald City". "I'm a hell raising, northern bred/ farm born, music fed/ wild eyed, Country-Fied Chick," she sings in this hard hitting anthem that's all about remaining true to who you are. Where a heavy guitar and screaming fiddle make for a perfect clash much like this Seattle born country singer.

"We are in a time when the 'boundaries' of country music are disappearing faster than society can set them," says Solomon. "New Country", "Modern Country" or "Rock Country", whatever you decide to call it it is unquestionably entertaining and is reaching an audience that was never before thought possible. This not easily definable genre is right where Rae Solomon and her music fall. Her fresh hooks and powerhouse voice make her modern while her songs' stories make her undeniably country.

"Something That's Mine" addresses the all too familiar feeling of running out of time and the journey you take to reclaim it. While "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades" throws a playful jab at love gone wrong. "This project is a well rounded representation of who I am and it really has something for everyone," says Solomon who wrote all but one song on the album. "I have been writing songs since I was 7 years old. It's a really exciting step to record and release my own material."

Although this is Solomon's first album she is no new comer to either music or the world of country. The former Rodeo Queen began her performance career on the front porch of her childhood home belting out "Friends In Low Places" to neighbors and passers by. At age 13 she auditioned for world renowned vocal coach Maestro David Kyle, who has trained the likes of Liza Minnelli, Heart, Geoff Tate of QueensRyche and Kenny G just to name a few. "I didn't realize at the time that I should be nervous and thank God for that! Working with Maestro was one of the greatest things that could have happened for me at that time" says Solomon.

After a successful trip to the International Presentation of Performers in 2007 Solomon began attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music. When asked why she decided to study the business side of the music industry this is what Solomon had to say, "I realized that being talented will only get you so far and I didn't want to leave the fate of my dreams solely in someone else's hands. Berklee has given me the tools to pursue a career that I love!"

"The Long Road From The Emerald City", named to represent the continuing journey and evolution of a young star in the making, will be released June 1, 2010 much to the excitement of Rae Solomon's rapidly expanding fan base. A new album full of unforgettable tunes coupled with a dynamic stage presence makes hers a career to watch.
