"NMN review"

Rae' Ven Rae is a solo artist with a passion for her work. Not one to succumb to the will of categorization, she embarks on numerous expirements with styles--the result a hodge podge that makes for a unique sound that she calls her own. - newmusicnetwork@clearchannel.com

"Queep Organic Music"

The first featured download is the absolute classic "LOVECRAZY", a dance orientated number. ALICIA has taken care of all the lyrics, melody and vocals on this one. The music and production was seen to by SONNY "PUREFUNK" HANCOCK and TONY COPELY. It is a very strong number, that surely deserves a house mix or two. It has all the elements of a club classic, and could even be described as slightly reminiscent of the style of DELERIUMS "SILENCE". It has that powerful rawness, and knockdead melodies. For sure if you heard this in a club, you would remember it. Lets hope there is more gas in the tank for this one. This mix is aimed at more of a general audience, and would suit a single or album, but we can imagine a few 12" djs mixing it in its present form.

The second track we have featured is "WONDERING", and acoustic number, and some would say it is a massive step away from the style of the former track, but we think not. This is another demonstration of this young womans talent for lyrics and melody, as she takes care of this yet again, along with performing the vocals with great feeling yet again. Looking after the music, and production on this one is ED HARLAQUE for VJEWE ENTERTAINMENT. As with the first track, the lyrics in this track really do tell a story along the way. No talking for the sake of it here! We though these two tracks were the best ones to introduce Rae' ven Rae to the QUEEP site. They show what range she has for songwriting, and how her voice could suit many styles. - Damien Hughes

"Electroid Magazine"

Though the title might make you think this stuff would be loose, the six songs presented here are complete packages, using Rae's terrific range and feel gliding like a angel over very strong basslines and melodic loops. She has some partners in creativity, dividing her talent as singer and songwriter with champions such as Edit on opening cut "The Cure", presented with thick pop overtures and delicious harmony. She brings out the first of her dance orientated hits she's created with "Purefunk" Hancock on track 2, "Lovecrazy". It sounds similar to some strong eurohouse numbers, most reminescent of artists such as the UK's Grace or Real McCoy (sans dude). It is very surpising Atlanta isn't at the forefront of great pop laced dance music, though part of the blame can be traced to the emphasis on the hip hop and rap the city spews. That said, a developing talent like Rae'Ven Rae cannot, and will not, be denied once people find out about it. - EM3

"Underground Records Review"

It will only be a short time before Rae'Ven Rae becomes a household name among club goers, radio youth and most importantly, R&B fans. What she and cohort Sonny "PUREFUNK" Hancock (how's that for a name with a groove?) bring to the table are massive beats, flowing lyrics, and a strong feel for taste, even on what would definitely be considered a "demo"; that notwithstanding, it's one demo that down the road career wise will be a collector's item. - UGRR
