Bio

Australian Hard Rock trio Ragdoll exploded onto the international stage in May 2012 with two electrifying sets at US rock festival Rocklahoma and a multi-state club tour across the Mid-West in support of their critically acclaimed debut release, ‘Ragdoll Rock’ (Rockpit.net’s EP of the Year) and their sophomore offering ‘Here Today’.

The three-piece are known for their high energy shows and striking musicianship. Lead by the powerful and soulful vocals of Ryan Rafferty, reminiscent of golden era Coverdale, Fogerty and Plant, their distinctive brand of Rock is infused with unforgettable, crunching guitar riffs intertwined with intricately woven melodies and mesmerizing guitar solos courtesy of Leon Todd, all backed by a freight train of a rhythm section driven by the thundering drums of Cam Barrett.

With an authentic sound and an unrivalled dedication to the music, nothing’s discounted in developing a Ragdoll original, that’s why each and every tune evokes that certain something… something almost indescribable… something you can’t quite put your finger on. It’s that ‘something’ that’s at the heart and soul of every Ragdoll song and every Ragdoll performance. It’s music steeped in tradition, paying homage to the greats and ghosts of the past while forging its own exciting new path through the Rock wilderness.

Ragdoll’s influences are broad and many, from the soul of the Blues pioneers to latter day greats like Trower, ZZ Top and Bonamassa, to the Classic Rock maestros like Zeppelin and Purple at their collective peaks, the melodies of Lizzy and Foreigner and the sheer unrelenting hard-rock class of Whitesnake and Van Halen. All have played their part. The result is a sound that stands alone, a sound that is unmistakably Ragdoll.

Great music is great music no matter where it comes from as long as it is played with heart and soul and listened to with open ears and minds... this is the Ragdoll philosophy.
