Bio

Rohan " Ragga lox " Robinson was born August, 13 in Mandeville ,Manchester Jamaica . He grew up in the community of Georges Valley , a small district on the outskirts of Mandeville . Rohan recalls his first live performance as one he'll never forget," It was 1987 while attending Decarteret college high school , the auditorium was packed , and i delivered, receiving so much applause it resulted in the concert ending abruptly , not so much because of the applause, but because the administration thought , the lyrics where too controversial . Recognizing his gift , he decided to persue a musical career , but before finishing high school Ragga and his family migrated to New York USA .
Rohan instantly linkup with long time friend Captain Remo , now known as Natty Remo , and though both artist migrated to the US around the same time , Remo had already made a name for himself , so under the alias" Terminator " ,Rohan got the opportunity to perform as opening act for some of Remo's shows .

In 1993 Ragga Lex was born ." Ragga" , short for raggamuffin , the way his new school friends referred to him , and "Lex the short for Lexus , a name recommended by Natty Remo And Tony Rebel , and the name his friend" Rog Nice" would call him when they would free style over R&B And Hip hop tracks at the Night Stalkers Lab.

Ragga Lex , as he was now known , started recording for Rhythm One Records . His debut release came in 1995 , with three tracks on a compilation Cd entitled Rhythm One Riddims. His single Ghetto youths was a favorite. The album also featured Wayne" Sling TIng "Smith , Yankee B And Devon Clarke .

One day while at Rhythm One studios , musician and engineer "Tarriii " suggested Ragga became a member of a band , so he could get the experience of performing live and having voice control. The opportunity presented itself almost instantly , as Ragga became a founding member of the band UNI , and perform in and around the north eastern section of the United States. It was the band actually that made Ragga decided it was music all the way .
After the break up of Rhythm One Records in 1996, Ragga continued performing with the band for another year before leaving to pursue a solo career .

Ragga began recording again. Now doing his own productions, recording "Bright lights Big City , and Chocolates and Roses for himself . Chocolates and Roses was an instant success , and received a considerable amount of airplay in and around the New York Area , before spreading out to other markets. Ragga Lex was now ready to finish his album , but find this to be a very expensive task , so In 1998 he linked with Richie Roots of blackmindrecords .His debut album " Mr. Lexinstein " was completed in 1999 , and feature chocolates and Roses , Bright lights Big city and more . The album was release in 2000 with underground market the main target, however got to the shore of Jamaica . Balfour Henry of the Jamaica Sunday gleaner wrote of how he was "delighted on hearing its lyrical tirade against all forms of injustices ", but also highlighted the fact that the album " has the hallmarks of a relatively poor inexperienced producer , trying to make the best of his ambition'" . Another beautiful article was published in the Jamaica Observer, but featured the picture of popular dancehall deejay "Lexxus" instead , who was at the time using the alias "Mr. Lexx" as his nick name , so Ragga decided to go back to the drawing board.

First Ragga changed the " Lex " to "Lox" , which he thought was more practical as rastafari had now became his way of life , and he also made a promise to himself , that future production had to be industry standard . Ragga Lox instantly began marketing and promoting the new name and the image. He became a radio personalty , co-hosting Culture Jam Radio , with Bobby Channel One , and then Reggae Jam Radio with Dave Judah 93.5 fm New York.
Blackmind Records did re-release the album under a new name " LIFE ", however , Ragga Lox left the company October 2004 to complete what he started years earlier , his own record company , Rtist4Rtist Ent.

Rtist4Rtist Ent. handles Marketing and promotions for Ragga lox and has release the album ," Music is My Life " , Ragga Lox Tenth Anniversary Collection. The disk , released in 2005 , is a collection of songs recorded for various producers , over Ragga's first ten years of recording . Rtist4Rtist ent. has also promoted various shows , both in Jamaica and in the us , and has booked its artist Ragga lox on numerous shows , including Irie Jamboree NYC , Unity is Strength Jamaica , One one Love Africa in Ethiopia , and shows in Kenya . Ragga lox has also performed on the same stage , with the likes of Luciano , Mikey General , Beenie Man , Junior Gong , Sizzla , Bob Andy , Gregory Issacs and more .

Ragga lox is now ready to release his third studio album . the disk , entitled " Steppa ina Babylon " , has eleven tracks , and features guest
