Yet to release anything; have enough material to release a couple of albums though.
Currently exploring studio options-my recordings were done in my flat; thus not of great quality.

Bio

Raggy Gold (real name Raghav Munjal) was born in Northampton, England 26th September 1988.
He is a singer/songwriter who currently resides in Sheffield, where he happens to study dentistry at the University of Sheffield.

Earlier life

Raggy has lived a large part of his life in Rochdale, Greater Manchester-though he has also called Peterborough and Northern Ireland home. He was educated at The Manchester Grammar School, a prestigious independent school in the North of England. He studied Chemistry, Biology and French at A Level.

At the age of 7, Raggy won a music competition at Bury GS, singing in front of the whole school. He was a member of the choir there too. Raggy was part of the MGS choir in his earlier years, that included a performance alongside the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.

Inspired by listening to Jimi Hendrix, Raggy began to teach himself the electric guitar at 15, to follow up the songwriting that had began to develop naturally and the singing that was always there. However, it was only in his first year at Sheffield that Raggy began to truly master the guitar (though still unable to read music), playing hours on end, jamming with fellow musicians and entertaining flatmates-all at the expense of his studies.

One day, the amp was playing up and he bought an acoustic guitar, which sounded more in sink with the bluesy/jazzy/folky/raggy time kind of sound that he so desired. He performed a song “Stop Smokin Babe” infamously with this guitar just days after purchasing it at the Sheffield Dental Revue 2008.

Aside from music, Raggy is politically active and known for his outspoken views, being a fierce critic of the war against Iraq. He was a finalist of BBC’s Schools Question Time, 2008 and made a claim “to grill the politicians…(despite not having) an oven”. He is the author of “A 21st Century Education-The Munjal Report” and is soon to release a song to endorse Democrat Presidential Candidate Barack Obama.

Raggy is passionate about climate change. He was a semi-finalist of DEFRA’s Climate Challenge in 2006 and told them to get then Environment Minister Margaret Beckett “out of her big fat Jag and into a Prius”. Raggy is set to be the Chief Policy Advisor of UKYPP and is currently writing “Climate Change: A 360 degree report”. He currently describes himself as “semi-vegetarian”.

Being of Indian descent, Raggy is multilingual, fluent in Hindi and Punjabi. Raggy can also speak French and some Spanish, which is set to transcend into his music. He is ambidextrous-playing guitar left handed, but writing right-handed. Other interests include writing, art and public speaking.

September 2008 sees the launch of raggygold myspace and the rest of 2008 will see Raggy gigging around the Sheffield circuit and beyond...
