Rags Moody III

I was born in Philadelphia Pa., raised in Southern Pines North Carolina. I started singing in church at the age of five. My mother and father split when I was six years old. We moved to North Carolina to live with my grandmother.

My grandmother would center me and gift me with a work ethic that prepared me for life. She taught me how to sing by teaching me every life has purpose. She taught me how to love and accept me.

I wrote my first song at age nine. The song was about children who struggle to overcome poverty and violence. I've always been moved to write about the real on every level of life.

In school I performed in talent shows, plays, church choir, stage band, chorus and ensemble singing groups. I started learning to play piano and drums from watching my friends play. After graduating from school I continued to perform in North Carolina. I started learning acoustic guitar, bass guitar and keyboard.

I moved to California in the late 90,s and started to produce more of my own tracks. I just started my own record label, ChiguRoba Records Inc.

Through a business associate I was introduced to Motown singing legend Brenda Holloway. Mrs. Holloway in turn introduced me to Multi Platinum Record Producer Preston Glass. Brenda Holloway and I recorded a duet on my new project song title is Same Page". The new project is titled Same Universe.

Working with Preston Glass has been the greatest experience of my life because he has the ability to bring the best out of the artist. In our first collaboration project "Same Universe", Preston gives me permission to reach higher with my vocal expression.

Til The Wheels Fall Off the first cut on the CD was selected for the end credits in a new feature Comedy titled; Hollywood & Wine, Staring David Spade, Chris Kattan, Norm MacDonald, Pamela Anderson, Vivica A Fox, Jeremy London and Chazz Palminteri.

The song, "Layers Of My Heart" is the story of how my wife saw value in me when I could not see it in myself. She has stood by me through all the hard times with a never ending love.

Some of my favorite artist are; Stevie Wonder, Cher, Teddy Pendergrass, Willie Nelson Alicia Keys and Elton John. Some of my favorite producers are; Preston Glass, Quincy Jones, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and Gamble & Huff.
