Bio

Hailing from Algiers, La (15th Ward New Orleans), I present to you Raj Marks, Leauxcals Only Hometown Hero. As he relates to the struggle of the underdog by mixing hip hop with reality, Raj stands as an advocate of the Westside. As a student of the art of rhyming, he would illustrate a passion for short stories which eventually became a therapeutic release. As a young black male of the 90s where the murder rate hits its highest record, he channeled his eye witness experiences and interpenetrated them through his music. It was his blood, sweat, and tears and the motivation of family and the streets that continues to inspire him. “I gotta finish what Tupac started”, says Raj, believing that his story will make a mark in history.
With his last project Pensive, Raj solidified his spot as a lyricist. From the smooth and gritty beats to the impeccable metaphors, he is able to inspire to a generation of leaders with catchy hooks encouraging our generation to "Spread Love" and reminds us that "We On Top" by being ourselves.
He has created a buzz within New Orleans and its surrounding areas. He has had the opportunity to perform at South by Southwest in 2015. He recently was apart of the #MusicHeard Concert: 2016 Essence Weekend Kick Off. Be on the lookout for his upcoming project, "Hi My Name is Raj", a reintroduction but induction to the road of greatness.
