Bio

Raleigh St. Claire was born in response to the recent stagnation of popular music. Fusing classical music with modern day rock, they have succeeded in creating a sound unlike any other.

Based out of New Jersey's state capital of Trenton, Raleigh St. Claire began as just a group of close friends and family (Kat and Evan are brother and sister) writing and performing music. "We started out as an instrumental band looking to write music to feature the instruments we played," says guitarist Matthew Lawrence.

It wasn't until a late night editing session at the College of New Jersey (four of the members are film majors at the college) that they discovered David Sanchez, vocals. "He was at a computer next to me singing the Scissor Sisters, who had a hit at the time, at the top of his lungs and I told him that he should come to our next practice," said Katrina Seftel. Dave started singing in the band and officially joined Raleigh St. Claire in late October 2004.

In January of 2005, Raleigh St. Claire entered Big Blue Meenie Studios in Jersey City, NJ to record the "Number One With A Bullet EP." Working with Tim Gilles (Thursday, Taking Back Sunday) and Chris Gachot (The Exit, On Broken Wings), they spent eight days recording and mixing the 7-song album (yet to be released).

Their youth (average age being around 20 years old) and love for each other and their instruments gives Raleigh St. Claire a passion evident in their writing and live performance. They continue to challenge each other musically with each new song and impress audience after audience with their energetic live shows (Raleigh St. Claire has shared the stage with such acts as Matchbook Romance and Days Away). The future promises the incomparable and exciting music and message that Raleigh St. Claire is known for.
