"RALLYCAR REVS UP HERE THEN HITS THE ROAD"

".... In describing the band, I called Rally Car driven. The editor stopped short. Rally Car. Driven. That about sums it up..... before it heads on a two-month cross-country tour. From here to Halifax, 6,000 miles. Originally, the band only was only to play next month's NXNE Festival. It put an entire tour together around that one date. So, the driven Rally Car will do a lot of driving. A band such as Rally Car can do that: manage itself, set up tours, release its own records..... Rally Car was unstoppable, though, and sold plenty of records off the stage. It won over a lot of supporters for its tours and subsequent showcases. In a word, Rally Car was driven...... (the new album Death to Retro) "Production-wise, we focused a lot more on the sound," Wilkie continues "Lyric-wise, it is a lot more personal. We put our heart and soul into these songs. The songs are a lot more meaningful." Tom Harrison, The Province Newspaper, Vancouver, Published: Thursday, May 17, 2007 - Vancouver Province Newspaper, May 2007

"A BAND YOU REALLY NEED TO CHECK OUT"

"Their MySpace page advertises them as "driven" and showing up a handful of hours early to Burlington's Legendary Red Rooster vintage café demonstrates the truth of this statement in ways that no amount of fan-based street-team devotion could..........With songs that range from driving to surprisingly melodic, this is a band that is saturated in the potential to become much more than a bar-hopping/festival-playing indie-band. There is an intensity present in their performance tonight that I have not seen in an indie-band before – something in the Justin (the vocalist)'s eyes when he sings that demonstrates just how willing they are to make sure that their band succeeds in as many ways possible. It is this intensity….this drive that will place them above all other independent bands, and especially all those other "MySpace bands."........Vocally, band-front-man Justin provides power in the sense of stage personality and vocal ability. His voice has the power to carry his lyrics across to an audience of mainly casual listeners and transform them into fans. His strength lies in the fact that his voice does not lose quality when taken out of the studio, and live, sounds just as stunning and as moving as it does recorded in a controlled environment. Of course, vocals are definitely not everything (even though they are rather important) and the men sharing the stage with Justin are equally as talented. In an interesting turn that is not normally seen in the indie-scene, backing harmonies are provided by bassist Dino (who is much more active and interesting to watch than most bassists). Surprisingly (or perhaps not, given the sheer talent possessed by this band) the harmonies are not confined to simple intervals, but weave in and out of each other to provide more than enough melodic variety to the listener. Dex (drums) proves interesting to watch – he sets his crash cymbals higher than is "normal" forcing himself to lift his arms and move with the music – while Alex (guitar) is one to watch for the simple intensity that he puts into his playing. All in all, the show was a spectacular success...." Einat Brigler, Toronto, Ontario, www.ampedreviews.net published June 5th, 2007. - ampedreviews.net June 2007

"RALLYCAR MOB SCENE"

“.... at a time when retailers are reluctant to stock independent releases as sales are down generally and indies don’t sell except in ones and two, if at all, Rally Car’s CD rolls off the stage...... The band holds autograph signings, unintentionally creates mob scenes..... “ The Province Newspaper, Vancouver, Ultra Sound by Tom Harrison - The Vancouver Province Newspaper

"THE CANADIAN INVASION"

“.... invasion to the American air waves... such as Vancouver natives Rallycar with a power driven yet melodic style that has earned them spots on the soundtracks of shows for the Global Television Network and Xtreme Sports Network Television.......... their kinetic energy leaves audiences begging for more. With an already established following awaiting even more releases, Rallcar just may be the next big thing to hit the U.S.” American Chronicle: The Canadian Invasion, written by Lisa Rayne - U.S. American Chronicle

"RALLYCAR A BAND TO WATCH IN 2007"

....Rallycar present rock music in its purest form. Like a slightly less polished, less punk orientated Autopilot Off - now sadly on permanent hiatus - RC capture the essence of their gritty live performances on the melodic bludgeon of ‘Crazy’ or the climatic mid-paced ‘No One Out There’. With a great future ahead of them, Rally Car is a band to watch in 2007.” Alternative Addiction, www.alternativeaddiction.com reviewed by Mike - Alternative Addiction, U.S.

"DESTINED FOR ROCK RADIO"

“.... ‘Take Back Sunday’ from Rally Car is one heavy hitting song. Justin Wilkie on lead vocals along with great guitars, bass and drums is the sure fire solution for your speakers. Play them loud! “Top of the World’ is another favourite of mine featuring killer guitar riffs and great harmonies. Rallycar is one sick band that is destined for rock radio and campus radio across the country. Bio

DBM Recording Artists Rallycar first hit mainstream radio listeners after winning the 99.3 FM The Fox Vancouver Seeds Contest competing with over 850 other bands for the coveted spot. The FOX Vancouver Seeds Project has helped kickstart the careers of bands like Nickelback, Default, Matt Good Band and more.

Rallycar's songs have been broadcast on radio stations across both Canada and the U.S. as well as playing on several TV and DVD releases in the U.S and Canada.

Having toured across Canada regularly, the band has developed a dynamic live stage show opening for various high profile bands. Rally Car has played over 900 shows at major venues all across Canada...

The band has had huge success with CD sales and has sold out their two CD releases, Death To Retro and Rallycar EP..

With the two sold out CD releases produced by Warne Livesey ( The The, Midnight Oil, Matt Good) under their belt, the band recently recorded 4 new songs with producer GGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickleback, Trapt, ) in preparation for their 3rd release.

The response to the songs on myspace has been overwhelming and plays are closing in on 2,000,000…. Rallycar caught the eye of DBM Records and signed with the label in August, 2009.

The band is currently going into the studio to finish up recording 4 more tracks with Garth Richardson for the upcoming February 2010 release.
