The band was originally put together to record the original soundtrack to the film "Regular or Super", a documentary on Mies van der Rohe. The music was recorded using vintage microphones and recording gear so that the album would sound like a 1960's Blue Note jazz recording. The influences for the music was mainly jazz soundtracks of the 60's by Lalo Shiffrin, Henry Mancini and Krystof Komeda. The end result has a electro/retro feel to it a bit like Cinematic Orchestra. It is one of the only existing ensembles that play music that has stylistic roots in that kind of jazz and uses real time electronic manipulation of the musicians on stage.
