Bio

Ramon Michael

Ramon Michael can’t remember a time when he wasn’t singing. Since the age of four when he first hit a note in the children’s choir at his church in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Ramon has not stopped singing. He was serious about his singing and knew it was his calling, so to master his craft; Ramon attended various performing arts schools and excelled musically.

“If you ever saw the TV show FAME, then you know what my high school years were like because that was exactly it,” recalls Ramon. “We danced through the halls, we sang in the lunch room, and we were inspired to expand our creative gift. We were taught to hone our craft and expand it became a lifestyle.”

After high school, Ramon was in a trio called Tra-Knox. A chance meeting with Will Smith changed his life. Will became a mentor and Ramon learned to utilize his God given gifts to his full potential. The trio appeared on several projects with Will Smith such as Born to Reign, which went double platinum, Willenium, a platinum-plus CD, and the Wild, Wild West soundtrack, which also went double platinum. Ramon was also featured in the music video “Nod Your Head,” the title song from the Men In Black II soundtrack in which they sang background as well as the song and video “Thousand Kisses” featuring Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

Taking Will’s advice to expand his horizons and learn as much as he could about the entertainment business, Ramon Featured into acting, something he had always enjoyed doing in school. “I am a singer first,” relates Ramon, “but I love acting.”

Acting roles in plays came his way. Ramon’s stage credits include: ”Talk Show Live”, His Woman, His Wife”, “Something She Can Feel”, and Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married” starring Kelly Price. Ramon has also starred in a recent production of “Get Back With God” at The Amas Theater in New York and is currently doing “Baby Momma Drama.”

Keeping with his “I’m a singer first” philosophy, Ramon is in the studio completing his first solo album. It is clear that his place was in the spotlight. Ramon’s vocal performances have been compared to the likes of K-Ci of Jodeci and Gerald Levert. These are indeed, flattering comparisons for any vocalist, but upon listening to him, you will realize that he possesses a vocal ability that is distinctly his own.

“I love the business and I want to do it all --- write, produce, and do movies, all of it. I truly believe that if you see it, you can achieve it.”

Ramon is on the verge of achieving all of his dreams. With this talent and focus, Ramon is on his way to the top.
