RAMSEY&COLLINS

Hailing from the new Southern Hot Bed Charlotte, North Carolina, Ted “Ramsey” Allen and Matt “Collins” Forney, are the millennium’s new answer for great music. The duo met as students at North Carolina Central University where both studied music. The two became fast friends and shared several interests. Shortly thereafter the two became members of a local R&B group “Lejice”. The group experienced creative difference musically therefore allowing the duo to create “Ramsey&Collins”.

Destined for success, Ramsey & Collins have their eyes on the prize, and realize what it takes to make it in this industry. “Hard work, hunger, level heads, and faith in God will get us where we need to go,” says Ted, “ We are so blessed to be in the situation we are in. We have the right people in our corner, and that’s a blessing.” Introduced to Derrick Williams by Matt’s cousin and Sony Music’s Tone Capone, Ramsey & Collins are the signature R&B act for the up and coming label. “Man Tone made sure we were right before we got into the mix with what he and Derrick were doing” say’s Matt. “We had to have our business together because Tone told me that if it isn’t right he wasn’t messing with us. So we got the music right and ceased the opportunity.”

The duo is poised to capture audience’s ears with their throwback sound. The guys were influenced by legends like Marvin Gaye, Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Hall & Oates, and The Temptations. “We’ve been listening to music like that since we were young,” says Ted, “It’s the foundation of the Ramsey & Collins sound, and we are proud of that.”

Ramsey & Collins are currently doing shows in the Southeast at local club’s, and showcases. “We have began to get a nice following, and that’s special for us,” says Matt. “The people are really loving the old school feel we bring to the music.” When not performing, the two artists are hard at work writing, and producing for their debut album “Souled Out”. In fact, the majority of the material on the album is produced, arranged and conceived by Ramsey & Collins. They also play most of the instruments on the project.

Expect an album from the duo in the summer of 2005.
