Heavens Serenade

Written By: Randy Lanham

Heavens Serenade

Verse 1
I hope that you can hear me,
tell me is heaven all they say that it will be.
Do you have Saint Peter laughing,
and are the angels singing your melody.
I miss you so much it hurts my heart,
My soul aches since the day we've been apart.

Chorus
So play them a song, and entertain the angels,
while you sing, heavens serenade.
Save one for me, and someday we'll be together,
singing, heavens serenade.

Verse 2
It must be nice in heaven,
everybody happy and no one feeling any pain.
Have you meet Jesus?
and has he told you why, he had to take you away?
Things are different here, they'll never be the same.
I hold on to the hope I'll be with you another day.

Going Home to Kentucky

Going Home to Kentucky

Verse 1
There's a town in Kentucky, where the river flow's.
You'll never meet a stranger, they make you feel at home.
There's something in the water, and music in the air.
And when I close my eyes sometimes it's almost like I'm there.
It's almost like Im there.

Verse 2
There's always something going on, no matter where you are.
Friendship, fun, and family are never very far.
My heart is calling out, begging to be free.
Calling for Kentucky, the place I want to be.
The place I want to be.

Chorus
I'm going home, to Kentucky.
That unbridled spirit is tugging at my soul
I'm going home, to Kentucky
That's where I'll plant my roots, and watch my children grow.
It's where I belong, I'm going home.

Verse 3
I look into the future and I think about the past.
I'm living in the present, and it sure goes by fast.
It's time for me to pack up and head that way.
My Old Kentucky home is calling my name.
It's calling my name.
