Biography

Randy Russell is a seasoned and prolific songwriter. He has a deep untapped well of off-beat, sometimes off color, but always heartfelt songs. Different, but with pop sensibilities.
Randy Russell has either headed his own band or been a driving force behind NashvilleÕs stalwart band, Ballhog!, for over 15 years in Music City. Playing every venue in town from the Exit/In to the Mercy Lounge to the Belcourt Theater. Ballhog! has shared bills with the likes of Steve Earle, Todd Snider, Driving and Crying, the Avett Brothers, Jim Lauderdale, etc... Russell has two solo cdÕs, Sad State of Affairs (1999) and Long Way from the Start (2004) to go along with Ballhog! self titled debut album (2006). Ballhog!Õs second album, II, is in the can and will be released early summer (2009).
