Rane Stone

BandBluesSinger/Songwriter

Blending a broad range of influences from the whole history of rock, country, folk and alternative, new and fresh breakout artist, Rane Stone, is quickly gaining the reputation as the new voice for “Roots Rock”.

Biography

Rane Stone was born into a musical family being that his father was a Baptist minister for many years. Soul, gospel, and blues were naturally born into his blood and he has been exploring his talents his whole life. Rane began singing at age four where his first performance was at the funeral of a childhood friend. Taking only a handful of piano lessons, he later taught himself guitar and keys and has written an abundance of instant hits since then.

Not afraid to speak out about the issues confronting all of us in our daily lives, Stone delivers in a way that is not only communicative, but also very self-healing. Stone pours self-aware and awakening lyrics into each composition expressing ordinary music in an extraordinary way. His music challenges and empowers those who absorb its message and lets us know that we are not alone in this enigma known as life.

This is the very essence of being a human in some very inhumane situations, self-inflicted or otherwise. The ironic struggle of our iconic and gritty nature, comparing and combining the gory with the spirited, and Stone does this masterfully. With Stone’s music there is no tricking you with the unnecessary and frivolous glitter that most bands use to get your attention. Smoke and mirrors…there are none.

Stone lays his guts out on the table while making you want to anticipate the view and commits to the songs unapologetically. There is no hesitation or insecurity whatsoever. The words and music are deliberate, confident and secure.

Stand

Written By: Rane Stone

In the beginning when we started livin'
There was a time that pain and sorrow wasn't even known
There was some time for living and there was some time for giving
There was a time to make your life a better place at home
But now those time have changed and now our lives are pre-arranged
Won't ya tell me what is wrong, do ya see what's goin' on
With the picture of us all

I'm gonna' take a stand and I'm gonna' make demands
Of the people that give a god damn
I'm tired of the rattle and roll of the empty hollow souls
That are making our time a neverending tragedy
Won't ya get up and stand and start shaking off the sand
That has blinded your eyes for far, far too long
Or will ya just wait for the neverending fate
That has taken control of your soul

Now there's a time dyin', and there's some time for cryin'
A little time to make some love and time to be alone
But wouldn't it make a difference if we just sit back for a minute
Just to catch our breath so we could see what's really goin' on
Kids are killin' kids and Mommy and Daddy got a broken home
Can ya tell me what is wrong, do ya see what's goin' on
With the picture of us all

I'm gonna' take a stand and I'm gonna' make demands
Of the people that give a god damn
I'm tired of the rattle and roll of the empty hollow souls
That are making our time a neverending tragedy
Won't ya get up and stand and start shaking off the sand
That has blinded your eyes for far, far too long
Or will ya just wait for the neverending fate
That has taken control of your soul

Can you see what's goin' on, do you see all that is wrong
Can you tell me what's goin' on, do ya see what's goin' on
With the picture of us all

I'm gonna' take a stand and I'm gonna' make demands
Of the people that give a god damn
I'm tired of the rattle and roll of the empty hollow souls
That are making our time a neverending tragedy
Won't ya get up and stand and start shaking off the sand
That has blinded your eyes for far, far too long
Or will ya just wait for the neverending fate
That has taken control of your soul

I Died Today

Written By: Rane Stone

Buying time, but time ain't on my side,
And death is knockin' on my door,
So here's my last goodbye,
Tell me why does it have to be this way?

Love is blind, but I can see the light,
And the silver cord has broken now,
And I'm floatin' out of sight,
Tell me why does it have to be this way?

Cuz' I'm like a tree that holds it's leaves in winter,
And braves the cold and waits for spring bloom,
But I'm cut down and thrown into your fire,
To burn for you.

Don't you cry,
Don't ya cry now that I'm dead and gone,
Cuz' if this had never happened dear,
You would never miss my love,
Tell me why did ya have to be that way?

Father time,
Yeah Father time ain't on my side,
And the Devil's broken through my door,
And now's my time to die,
Tell my why, why oh why, do I have to die today?

Cuz' I'm like a tree that holds it's leaves in winter,
And braves the cold and waits for spring bloom,
But I'm cut down and thrown into your fire,
To burn for you.

Tell me why, tell me why is this my last goodbye?
I had so much to live for now it's all gonna' wilt and die
Tell me why does it have to be this way?
Tell me why, why oh why, yeah why can't I stay?
Tell me why did it have to be this way?
Tell me why did I die today?
